You should invest in the Viper Alarm with remote start. It has a little key fob thing that let's you know when your alarm is going off.

 

Sorry to hear about that. Does your truck not have an alarm system?

 

That sucks Scott Sorry to hear about this. I am working on a system in my truck and decided to go with an OEM HU just because of this. People suck

 

I don't know about the newer models, but I had one like that (Viper) installed in my Jimmy after it was broken into in '06. The range on it sucked even with new batteries and the signal wouldn't go through buildings. I guess if it makes you sleep better at night or enjoy your movie its worth it.


With 100 dollar deductible they'll more than likely replace everything, its going to be at least that much to get the door fixed. When my truck got busted into I had to pay the difference on the window, $185ish, and they direct deposited the money for my ten year old amps and discontinued head unit at what it would cost to replace with new models. To bad that money went towards paying for the replacement of my PCM.

It only has what came from the factory, the little red blinking light on top of the dash. Not sure what that does, maybe it just keeps it from starting without a key?

Thanks John! I ran OEM HU for a long time with aftermarket speakers and amps. It's not a bad set up sound wise but I decided I wanted Nav so I just changed to aftermarket a few months ago.

Everthing will be replaced. I actually have a full set of door handles I bought off a member here and was going to have them PTM. I already talked to the body shop about doing this and they said no problem. I think I am going to get the mirror caps done while they are at it so maybe this will be a bright spot about the whole thing!
