Both Audi wreck were horrendous to watch. I was more concerned for the "bystanders" behind the tire wall in the first Audi wreck.

Just a testament to how well built those cars are.

 

You bet! But can you imagine the G-forces on the drivers of those cars? I think it's incredible that most of these crashes don't kill the drivers. (And, they actually walk away!)

Racing cars are crash tested just as road cars are. Not to mention, all series (that I know of) require the drivers to wear a H.A.N.S. device.

 

Thank you Frank, for your incredibly insightful post. It really helped me to see how trivial my thoughts were.

I wonder though, would YOU have wanted to experience the forces that driver did? I sure wouldn't.

I would never want to crash that hard, but it is part of it unfortunately.

Yeah i saw both of those crashes live. Something you never want to see.

And also.. Congrats to Corvette for taking home 2 1st place trophy's!

 

Riding around in a race car was crazy enough when I did it, I can't imagine crashing in one like that!
