the lizard obama loves
just when obama was running out of new ways to destroy the economy and ensure gas prices stay up along comes his little buddy a lizard. this lizard has the ability to put 65,000 people out of work. oil drilling and ranching will be shut down.

You missed one important fact in the article, it's in Texas. Environmentalists have been known to simply walk away from issues and some just are never heard from again. Amazing how Texans can handle an issue without a problem. And besides, if they don't find any of these lizards in the area, there's not an issue for that rancher.
they have the same issue with the "scrub jay" here. its a little bird on the endangered list. costs a bunch to build in mitigation fees if they find them. so its made sure that they are not found. the birds would do better if they didnt have the law.
it was on fox as well as 2 other local stations and in the local paper. if this furthers obamas destruction of the country and no oil drilling he will probably get a nut every time he sees a geico commercial.
I'm sorry, not once does that link mention President Obama. Where do you get that the lizard is the President's buddy?
In fact, if you READ the article, it seems pretty obvious that Rep. Mike Conaway (R-Tex.), and Rep. Steve Pearce (R-N.M.) are simply trying to make a political mountain out of a molehill. And, it seems fairly obvious they're in pretty tight with "Big Oil".
Here is a quote from that article in case you could not manage to read it all:
So, let's acknowledge what the article REALLY says: "Reps Mike Conaway and Steve Pearce are seizing an opportunity to get themselves in the public eye over a problem that doesn't exist." (And they probably got a lot of monetary support from Big Oil just for doing so, but that's just my opinion, of course.)

Conservation groups that want the reptile added to the Endangered Species List are pointing to a new study by the Center for Biological Diversity showing that the reptile’s habitat is so small that protecting it won’t impact drilling.
“[The dune sagebrush lizard] exists on less than 1 percent of the land proposed during the study,” said Jay Lininger, an ecologist with the Center for Biological Diversity who conducted the study.
Lininger based his study on the land leased to oil and gas companies by the Bureau of Land Management and found that 5 percent of nearly 53,000 acres offered for lease since January 2010 included habitat for the lizard.
Somehow, I don't see protecting 1% of the land that the oil and gas companies want to work is going to cause those companies serious problems. “[The dune sagebrush lizard] exists on less than 1 percent of the land proposed during the study,” said Jay Lininger, an ecologist with the Center for Biological Diversity who conducted the study.

Guess who controls/gives direction to them (the US Fish and Wildlife service, which is under the Dept. of the Interior) ? The POTUS.
Not to mention the E.P.A.
From the article: "Over the months, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service conducted public hearings on the issue, and on Monday closed the period for public comments."

I imagine they took their position in an emulation of our beloved Republican Senator Jon Kyle, whose "statements are not to be considered factual" (quote from his own headquarters).

Sorry Frank - that's a "fail" to use the vernacular. The article DOES NOT SAY that poor old "Big Oil" is going to suffer at the hands of the Administration. It simply says that two Republican Congress Critters are trying to make political hay out of a "nothing", that sounds like it might be "anti-progress". How is 1% of anything a big deal?

Oh, dang, Your Honor, I really wasn't speeding - I asked that to be, "stricken from the record". So, you can see I'm as innocent as a newborn!

Did I say, "POTUS does not give direction to the departments"? If I did, I can't find it. Would you be so kind as to point out where I said that?
You seem to consistently fall back on the transparent artifice of attributing some devious intent to anything that is contrary to your narcissistic viewpoint. It's REALLY tiresome.
And, I'm off on a week's vacation with our Grandkids early tomorrow which will include some serious hiking in the Rockies. You get the last word, since I won't be here to respond to it.
