wake up call!
wake up call!
Oh man...where to start. Ill just keep it short and sweet. I got pulled over with 2 friends in my truck last night at 130 AM. Apparently, my truck matched the description of a truck that burglarized someones house or some stupid ****. (black truck, loud exhaust, etc.) Way to stereotype! Anyway, I had a lot to drink. I definitely shouldnt have been driving. I was on the way to drop them off at their cars and the night was going to be over. I get pulled over. I failed following the pen test. I then had to have a breathalizer test. I BLEW A .138!
The cops talked for a while and I was FOR SURE thinking IM getting a DUI and my life is over. The cop then said its your lucky night, got into my truck, drove a block down the street, parked it, and took the girl (biatch) that was with us home and we called a cab. I got a fix it ticket for 4 things on my truck. But honestly....HOW DID I NOT GET A DUI!?!?!?!? My buddy is a Marine and kept saying I am the luckiest SOB alive.
I WILL NEVER DRIVE AFTER DRINKING MORE THAN 1 BEER EVER AGAIN!!!!

Were you honest with them? Polite?
My guess is that if you told them what y'all were doing, and that you had been drinking, then they were more likely to not get you in so much trouble. Also, they might have been more focused on getting the other guy instead of having to deal with y'all, who were in the idea situation, polite and not trying to cause trouble. Now with that said you should not have been driving if you had anything to drink much less enough to blow a .138. Consider yourself lucky and learn from this, because it may seem to be the "hard way" to learn(paying for tickets etc.) but you got off easy man.

Yeah i was super polite to them but I did lie and say I didnt have anything to drink. Either way, Im buying a lotto ticket because I am super lucky. But I am definitely learning from this...no doubt about it.
That's good man. I think I would buy a lotto ticket too
Just always remember this though, because it can slip the mind and put you in another bad experience like this should have been. Oh and if it seems like I am being easy on you, or anything like that because I am not bashing him, I am only 17 but have seen what this kind of stuff can do to families etc.

I would say you are super lucky... Not because you didnt get a ticket, but because you didnt hurt or kill yourself or someone else.
I had a boss i worked for in Colorado that went to prison because he killed a woman when he collided with her head on. When the police arrived on the scene he was walking around in a daze with his pants around his ankles and a bottle of cherry brandy in his hand.
Most of us have done things in our life that we look back on with regret. Some of us got away with it and some of us didnt. I really hope you stick to your final statement in the original post. It is easy to go back out and get nice and buzzed and forget or just say it.

Was the girl hot and have you heard from her today? The cop drops you feller's off and takes the girl home? Hmmm.....
But yea man, you're super lucky. Glad you have learned your lesson.

Had a similar experience, passed all sobriety tests and blew under .08. My wife should of been driving but she was tired and didn't want to drive my truck. Officer let me go with a speeding ticket 8 miles over and made my wife drive home. I thought for sure I was getting a DWI. Since then I have not driven after a few beers, you never know whats going to happen.
I'd say the lucky ones here are the folks you did not get a change to kill. I really hope you learned something today because you youngins just don't get it, your entitled to nothing... On a Personal note my cousin was killed by a drunk 2 years ago sitting in her car at a red light right after a 14hrs shift as a RN in the ER, drunk never touched the brakes and ran into the rear of her escort and instantly killed her dead and left 3 kids (6,8 and 14 months) and a dad scared for life. So enjoy your reprieve from justice and man i hope you never drive drunk again....
