This has been going on for centuries, it has nothing to do with facebook.

This is caused by people with low/no morals.

maybe a slight increase due to facebook, nothing to write home about.

Geographically challenged old flames might have "work related travel" hook ups, but these people were already doing it before with strangers from the hotel bar.
They just cut another notch in the belt with the old flame. The same devious behavior has been going on prior to the old flame.

Living close / same town you grew up in would account for more of the old flame hook ups than facebook, with little chance of a digital trail.
The digital trail is what is common knowledge by now from TV shows, so I would think that any increase over facebook has already dropped off.

I have worked with this type of person before, it is not a pretty sight.

Thus companies have no reason to pay people the salaries demanded in the US when they can make the same thing cheaper elsewhere.

Does this not also make things cheaper and quicker? Better logistics has helped every single person on this planet. This new technology does not decrease the amount of jobs, it just moves it to other areas. The cost savings far out weigh any negative. You don't want to get in an argument about logistics with me. That's for sure.

Call centers were all here in the US as International calls would have been cost prohibitive. With VOIP and such they can route calls via India or the Phillipines as easily as here at home.

This is just a supply and demand thing. Actually more people have jobs because of it, just so happens they are over seas.

Companies like Wal-Mart have been able to cut every cent out of moving product and easily undercut most small businesses thus running them out of town.

A walmart helps everyone out with a cheaper product. Walmart also produced more jobs than it killed at the 'mom and pop shops'.

Technology has given us the ability to have a 24 hour news cycle and while being knowledgeable of our surroundings is important, it has led to sloppy journalism too.

That varies and is your opinion.

Again, it all depends on perspective.

It's not about your perspective, it is about what is.
I can do this all day...

Facebook has helped in communication, networking, advertising, promotion, and as a good source of entertainment.

In my experience, facebook is a waste of time and overly dramatic, so I deleted mine

I liked it better when my friends called me rather then text me, because its just easier to hit one button.

How about the stupid woman that left her 13 month old son in the bathtub alone so she could play Cafe World. The child drowned and she said she did it all the time because the child liked its independence.

Maybe it is just thinning the herd a bit.

The point is that while technology benefits us, it has a counter effect too.

I am certainly not wanting to turn the clock back 100 years or anything. I wouldn't survive very long on a farm.

I don't see why you are against people getting helped out even if they are over seas... The outsourcing problem is due to our high taxes and regulation. I wonder who caused the outsourcing?

You could eliminate taxes and regulations completely and there still would be no incentive for companies to hire Americans when they can hire people at slave wages (yes I know those are the competitive wages there...blah blah blah). Until American workers can afford to work for 17 cents an hour, there is no way we can compete. Heck inmates in our fine correctional institutions make more than most of the people in the third world.

It was Reagan that said a rising tide will lift all boats. It certainly isn't happening quickly enough as there is too big of a gap between what is a living wage in the third world and the rest of the world.

Do you actually read what you spew?

As a nation, we have to protect our interests.

All of these "free trade" agreements we have kill us. One of the first things we need to do is put real trade agreements together that actually help get Americans back to work.

The only good that comes out of countries like China dumping cheap products in our markets is that I can save a nickel on something at Wal-Mart. I'll be glad to pay extra if it means that the item was made here at home.

Yeah, a rising tide. Progressives are proposing draining the pools of success to give mediocrity some buoyancy.

Reagan wasn't suggesting pulling the top down to raise the bottom up. He knew that success would spread, and reach more and more people.

And you say you dont want socialism.

If your Facebook is filled with drama it is not because of Facebook, it is because of your friends. I have Facebook and I have very little drama, but then again the people I friend don't have a lot of drama in their lives. If they start developing drama they get booted out of my friends list.

This situation is unfortunate, but it is obvious the mother didn't have the parenting skills to raise a child. If this accident didn't occur the child would most likely have suffered some other calamity in their future. Laying the blame on Facebook is like laying the blame for a murder on the weapon used instead of the person doing it.

Actually China is have an issue with the rising tide right now. They are getting pressure from India as the new cheap place to have stuff made.
Don't know how quick you think this is going to happen, but it caught China sleeping at the wheel on the topic.

Some can't afford to pay extra, as they think minimum wage is meant to live on. They got themselves into a bind, and can only afford the roll back shelves at walmart.
There are the ones that do it, just to save 5 cents, and they could care less about where it comes from. Then again they might be next on the list of "My job went to XYZ "

Its the nature of facebook, its an easy place to go when you want to vent about people you dislike, and since everyone can see it, the drama starts
and facebook takes away from the outside world
