Ford Flex or Ford Edge

I am looking into getting either a 08-09 Ford edge or 09 Ford flex. As I have only driven the edge I am taking all opinions on what everyones thoughts are on these 2 vehicles. I like the driving performance of the edge and all the options you can get for the price. On the other hand I am 6'5" and I feel that the Flex might be more roomey and I like how it's different looking then anything out there, but is the performance a little lacking? I cant afford the eco boost otherwise this would be an easy decision. Any thoughts or opinions on the two would be great. Thanks.

I've driven Edge's from time-to-time as rental vehicles and have always been very impressed with them. A buddy of mine had a Flex and my first impression was that it was really big and really long compared to the Edge. My advice would be that if you really need the extra room of the Flex, than that's the way to go, but if you can live with the smaller size of the Edge I'd be inclined to go that way.

Same chassis and drivetrain so it is really about the styling and space. I love my Flex.

Yeah I have just never driven a Flex so I do not know how it handles. I know it's not as fast as the edge from 0-60, but does it handle pretty well and how is the passing power?

I drove an '07 Edge for a few years. I really liked a lot of things about that car. It was very functional and also fun to drive. It was decent on fuel economy, maybe a low of 17mpg in winter to a high of 24mpg highway. A more restraind driver could probably do better. I was less than impressed with they way it looked as comaipred to other crossovers. It also didn't have a ton of room, which is why, when Ford came out with a better V6 for the F150, I traded in the Edge.

The Edge is affordable and a generally good vehicle. Having said that, if I'd won the lottery, I'd have an Ecoboost Flex in the stable.

I just can't get warm and cozy with the looks of the Flex - to me, it looks like a bus.

I've had no problems fitting in the Edge, I really like the style of em but there is quite a bit more room in the Flex, all around. Either way it's win win in my opinion. I've been shopping for a non truck family car and both these choices are up there, prices are still a bit much for me not using it as a daily driver though.

Flex especially for the years your looking at. I love the new Flex and Edge but dam that new Explorer looks great. If you was going 2011 I would say the Titanium Flex. When I see the new Edge its hard to like the old one even though there similar its something about that grill (especially on the Sport) and those LED tails
