Weather events

With all the devastation going on in the south i am hoping all of my fellow brothers and sisters faired well and have not been effected by all this crappy weather. I wish you all well... I complain about the snow here but there is just no comparison to what has been gong on down south. Be safe and be well.

I've heard from the one person I know down there.

Makes me think the NW is a great place to live. Dodge a few wild fires here and there, and watch the river swell once or twice a year. I couldn't deal with hurricanes and tornado's throughout the year.

Some of the worst weather I have ever seen. It was one flood, tornado and/or severe thunderstorm warning after another here from Monday afternoon till about 5 or 6 pm yesterday. We didn't get much sleep but survived just fine.

One fatality in the next county that I know of where the road was washed out and an older mans car was washed away after he drove into it.

Arkansas really had it bad over there so I think we just got lucky.

Really an unreal 3 days!

Was worried a little today. On the radar where they show circulation, about 3 of them went right over my home by the radar maps. Fortunately, nothing came of it, although they had tornado watches all over the area. My hopes and prayers are with all down south where they received the brunt of it.

I know you're worried about me Bucky! High and dry here. Lots of wind, a bit of rain, but no damage locally. Closest damage was miles away.
Last night I forgot to tie down the back porch swing and it clanked into the house and the porch railing for a short spell, but once the rain began the wind subsided.

This has been a rough week and until last night I though we had it pretty bad. What happened in Alabama was unbelievable. Hopefully we are done with the rough weather for a while. For the last several days the only thing on my TV was severe weather warnings. I've been lucky and escaped unscathed. The tornado that hit Villonia was about 20 miles north of me and the one that hit the Airforce base was about 5 miles away and headed straight at me but broke north and missed me. I also have been extremely lucky and not had any hail damage. When they started talking about baseball size hail I was crappin' kittens since my truck is less than a month old and doesn't fit into my garage. All of the big hail missed me and only just a little bit of small stuff fell on my house.

I'm done with this crap, almost a week straight of tornado warnings is too much.

Was horrible down here, we got it pretty bad but not like Alabama. About 13 dead locally here, we went to the hospital and took cover there, my apartment is on a hill overlooking the city so I didn't feel safe with the baby here. Funnel clouds all around, a lot of them never touched down thank God, but yeah, we had some crap. Had a cousin who was hiking the Appalachian Trail on top of a mountain down in Georgia and didn't know storms were even coming. Heard from him a little while ago, he made it ok, and he's continuing his hike. Had a cousin in Ringgold, GA, and the place is devastated. Here's a truck from down there, looks like shotgun damage (nothing compared to the ones that were thrown and flipped and stuff), hope this was nobody here's truck.

Here's a picture of the funnel cloud that made us decide to leave the house.

All in all, NE TN got hit, a lot of people are hurting, the deep south really got hit hard. I'm going to volunteer to go down and help people if I can get time off work, I heard a million in Bama won't have power for days.

^I can't believe you even made it into town. It was hard enough for me to even get out of there a couple days ago.

The hubby's father lives in Tuscaloosa, they were very lucky nobody got hurt or worse. They only lost the roof and 90% of their trees, there were so many others that didn't make it or lost a loved one. Sadly there's probably a high number of folks that have subpar insurance or no insurance at all. I hope the insurance companies don't jerk them around and make it more difficult than it already is. Knoxville got the worst hail I've ever seen. I left work half day, glad I did, every car at work was hammered.

I live near Dallas. While we have not had it near as bad as some places my truck got beat to hell by golf-ball size hail that losted almost 15 minutes. Lost a double pane window in the house and have minor roof damage. Oh, my fence is gone too; no loss there though. Lol

Hope your all doing well and staying safe. I get to look for a hail repairman for my truck now. If any of you know of one in the Dallas area, let me know.

I'm glad I have my parking garage at my apt in Arlington.

I know Stealth got pounded with some hail in Burleson, as well as my girlfriends house in Crowley.

Luckily Arlington got majority rain from everything.
