Guy I work with has an 05 and isn't exactly easy on it. Doesn't keep up with maintance, thinks the throttle is the on/off switch. To the floor being on and foot on the brake being off Drifted it this winter on a snowy road and took out the front bumper. I think it only has around 60,000 on it but seems to be holding up well.

Bought my wife a new one back in '05 to use as her daily driver and so far it has been a great little vehicle! The 3.0 V6 has plenty of pep for the type of driving we do, and we seem to average around 22-23 mpg with a 60-40 mix of highway-city driving.

The size is just right for us with only one crumb-cruncher in tow, but if we had one extra kid it might be a tad tight on longer trips.

The only weak spot mechanically seems to be the transmission, but this appears to be completely avoidable with religious servicing of the fluid combined with limited towing -- I flush and fill the fluid on ours every 25,000 miles and so far have had no concerns whatsoever.

I say go for it......

just bought my wife a 2011 and so far so good no problems seems to be good when hauling the hunting crap and dog around. we got 21.8 mpg driving from clarksville to nashville and all the tooling around we did also.

My dad had an 05 I believ and nothing but problems for him. He hated it but then again it broke down every other day lol.

just drove my sisters 2010 for the first time since she got it, pleanty of room for me, 6ft tall. didn't feel near cramped, had pleanty of head room. the v6 is spunky, you do feel it pull to the side when you floor it. had fun driving it home mainly because it was small and kind of gay for a guy to be driving it alone but i had a smile on my face the whole way

Very nice! We just got my wife a 2008 today! Well, the Mazda version, but same thing. We traded in her very tired very worn 2000 Focus..no a/c for the last 5 years, she was miserable. The new ride has the 4 cylinder and 5 speed great for her commute. Plus, ice cold air!! She is so happy and me too..for her and now I don't have to wrench on her car everytime I turn around. Will give a report on mileage as we get some miles on her..

I hope your transmission shifts better than the rental I got. It's horrible in mine.
