Never watched the show, but my sister is a big couponer. She posted this link on facebook the otherday showing how these people are doing that. To summarize the link... they are committing fraud to get that much off their bill.

Yeah really, I got behind a lady with 3 carts, YES THREE carts of stuff (because she was actually the shortest line in the store.) Once she had all her items scanned and coupons subtracted she paid .75 cents. Yes 75 cents for three carts full of stuff. It took her 25 minutes to complete her transaction and it took me 3 minutes to kill and disembowel her in the parking lot for making me wait that long for my one bag of chips and bottle of pop.

No express lane?

Everyone in this thread needs to come clean. You know you're all going to watch it now that you see other guys do! Plus, I think half of us here can appreciate the fact of saving that kind of money!! I'm going to be honest, if I could purchase 3 carts full of stuff for 0.75 cents, I wouldn't care one bit about who was behind me in line. I would just laugh all the way to my U-Haul truck that I brought with me to haul everything.

Unless you make a coupon for what you want. Its not that hard.

Its not new. If you can read binary, its easy to print your own coupons. I'm on another infamous website that does this. You can get a bag of Doritos for $0.75, or a carton of cigs for $5. Before this became big, a guy actually walked out with a FREE PS3 from ToysRUS. He paid $27 in taxes and gave them a coupon he made himself. I've got the pic somewhere

I know you linked my previous post where i said it was fraud, but I am going to reiterate it for the others that didn't quite catch that.... It is highly illegal and unethical. It is the exact same thing as stealing. People that do it shouldn't be idolized, they should be prosecuted.

I saw the show on and watched part of it the other night. The one guy shopping was getting all this stuff to send care packages to troops overseas......I thought that was pretty cool. They also said he donated over $50000 worth of stuff to his towns food bank the previous year.

The store workers apparently knew him as a regular shopper and the store didn't seem to mind that he was paying pennies on the dollar. Some out there may be commiting fraud but I doubt a show on the Discovery or TLC channel would be knowingly promoting it.

It's another "reality" b/s show about ocd people with too much time, loading up their Prius to go shopping. Boooo, no thanks, one more show making tv suck.
