Kill a woodpecker and go to jail........ as stated above seek DEC help before you shoot/trap/pound the little fella. People are so petty and have little or no respect for wildlife around them. Sit back relax allow him to do what he does and if it is damaging something setup a motion activated water nozzle and he will soon part ways....

OR, you could kill him, dispose of the remains, and don't tell the government none of your damn business.

Fill the bird bath with anti-freeze?

Honestly, I would shoot it. Our dog goes nuts when a bird is peckin on the side of the house and trys to catch them so that usually runs them off also.

Woodpeckers are commonly protected under state laws, and in those instances a state permit may be required for measures that involve lethal control or nest destruction. Other methods of reducing woodpecker damage do not infringe upon their legal protection status. Threatened or endangered species, however, cannot be harassed.
Yep, dont kill the bird because it ranks higher up in the political food chain than your house...and especially dont post it up on a public forum that can be easily accessed by anyone.

Get an outdoor cat. In fact you can pick from any one of my 4 outdoor cats that I've inherited. All are squirrel, bird and mouse hunters.

If you mistake him for a wasp, you might legally shoot a can of wasp spray at him.

Accurate and will shoot a fair distance.

Won't hurt the garage and he probably won't come back.

Probably best to call an attorney first though, to see what your legally available options are, lol.

They're too hard to clean, anyhow.

Gotta have 5/6 to really make a meal.

Whack em and stack em.
