get the quad, much better choice. a honda 4x4 with a 350 or an 4x2 with a 250, automatic is really nice to have. you can ride a quad in snow and you definetly cant ride a bike in snow. its just all around better, if you wanna go fast get a fast dirtbike or a honda 450 racer, my friend had a 450 and it was so fast its scary

Got the Polaris Magnum 425 last nite for $600 . I think it is in very good shape, all the fluids looks good, suspesnsion looks good, tires etc. Just gotta find a muffler and exhaust pipe for it that doesnt cost a arm and a leg. Will post up pics later today.

I have that exact same bike I bought new back in 1996 except mine is 4x4. Still runs like a top. It will occaisonally foul a plug (maybe once a year) but that's about it. I'd change all the fluids out and grease everything really good. Give me a shout if you ever have a question about it, maybe I can help. You will enjoy it!

Thanks , One question any idea where i can get a muffler? Im not having much luck on the internet. Threw Polaris the muffler is $195.00. Is aftermarket exhaust cheaper or do i need to go threw the dealer?

May just be better off going stock. Once you start going aftermarket on exhaust you change the carb settings by allowing higher flow which in turn causes you to run lean and you know what can happen from that. Now after market is fine if you want to take that chance and possibly even have to rejet.

I love ebay found a used exhaust pipe and muffler for my exact model shipped to my door for $120. It would have been almost 300 for all new pipe and muffler.

Congrats, by the time I was going to chime in you had already but the atv. I was going to tell you that a 250 atv is way to small and underpowered for you. I own a Raptor 250 & 700 so I can tell the difference

Just a little update, i took the 425 to the mechanic to get the muffler put on and turns out it has a flat cam so i went from this 425 Polairs

to this 95 polaris express 300 4x2, he wanted 900 for it but gave me 500 for my old one so paid 400 cash for it. It ran alright but just didnt have enough power.

So i sold the 300 on craigslist for 900.00 and turned around and bought this one for 900.00. Polaris 2 stroke 400 4x4 with 1400 miles on it. She hauls butt and the 4x4 is nice addition also.

Not a big fan of 2 strokes. As long as it gets you to point a to b and doesnt turn into a money pit and you enjoy it thats all that matters. Congrats

I have a Honda forman 500 at the house, its pretty nice for a standard ATV.
Its really big for me, and even a rider on the back but its got plenty of grunt to it, and with a good set of tires I hardly ever have to use 4X4.
