What's been getting stolen around us are the 2-5 gallon red plastic gas containers that you can pick up anywhere. Everyone has them, and they're worth maybe $20 full, so no, not worth anyone's time to track those down.

Seriously, does Kansas even have a police force?
Contrary to popular belief, yes, we do. The sheriff for our county is a retired state trooper, and was also a close personal friend of my grandpa when he was alive, so he deffinately knows the truck.

Kansas, Post this at www.oilburners.net Very good group of guys over there who trade parts all around the states. Post it in 6.9-7.3 IDI section. I know many personally and if they found the truck with scumbags present might just take matters into their own hands.

So that would be a no for the truck as well? Not very smart.

Well, what I'm saying is if they were concerned with the previous thefts they should have at least done something about it then, and now they're shocked the truck was stolen. Seems to me things escalated because nothing was done about the little stuff, which isn't little at all. Still hasn't replied if they did an investigation on the truck theft. Odd.

What are they suppose to fingerprint? The truck was parked in a shop on a farm where dust/dirt/junk cover everything. The shop doors they opened have been opened thousands of times by dozens of different people, without ever being cleaned, so how are they going to pull a print off those? The only other things they touched were the chainsaw and gascans, which they took.

The truck is listed as stolen, and thats basically all we can do.

Also, what's been missing from our farm before this was gas out of our storage tank, so we just put a lock on it. The only other things are wrenches/screwdrivers/other hand tools, but you never know if someone just left them somewhere like on a vehicle, or in a field when they were working on something. So in other words, this was the first time we really considered ourselves to be stolen from.

That sucks, this is one of my favorite trucks too. Always wanted one in white with a gas 460 though. It'll turn up, usually just some jackass looking for a joyride. What high demand stuff is on a 17yr old truck and think of reasons why people would steal it. If it was a 2011, I'd say ya, it's stripped and pieces sold around the world by now. Good luck.

So the thefts that you were talking about weren't really thefts at all?

Oh well. Seems like more could be done regarding the stolen truck.

I do know this. A punk kid broke into one of my Parent's empty houses they were selling in town and found the fire extinguisher and blew it up in the garage. They found prints and caught the kid. Tons of prints were in that house too.

I guess you get what you settle for.
