Nissan 350Z

Found this car, $13,500.
Truck is costing me too much in gas $55 to fill up at half tank and I use a tank a week. Thats a paycheck a month just for gas.

Found this car, called the guys and they say its in great shape and a one owner local trade.

Does anyone know much about these cars? my insurance is going to drop $60 a month, from $180 to $120 and I hope to get the payments in the same range, maybe for close to the same length as I have now.

I am getting 13.5 MPG no matter what I do, and I figure that car is rated at 20/26 so I can see 20-23 daily.

here is a link to the add.

That 2003 looks pretty rough...plus the price is too high. Being a 2003, the first year of the 350Z, is a sign to stay away. Never hear of the track version....but I'm sure based on the name....it's been through much punishment. If your looking for a 350Z, there are plenty of newer years/models available that don't demand the price and risk of this car.

BTW, I have a 370Z Sport and love it. Even with my car being a 2010...the paint on these cars are terrible. That's why i got the front end wrapped along with other select panels.

The car I drive to save gas in the truck is a Mitsu Eclipse. It gets 22-28 and is not much of an improvement over the truck. Its less comfortable, closer to the ground, crappy interior, the list goes on and on. For the money its saving me, I'd rather drive my truck. The killing point I see in your problem is that the 350Z is a two seater. You are giving up your ability to tow trailers, carry oodles of stuff, and a whole family. With that 350Z, you severely limit your options. That car is supposed to be a "weekend fun car" and even if you live by yourself, etc I can still see that one seat putting a snag in your plans.

I get 21 mpg in my GT and I drive it like I stole it whenever I can. I grannied it for one full tank of gas and got 23.5 mpg. You can find some nice GTs out there for that price...

Does it have to be a sports car? If not look at an older Acura TSX. You can find them for that price. My wifes gets 28 mpg all day long and it comes standard with oodles of features, ours has never given us one problem and we have had it since new (2007) and its got 60000+ miles on it. The dealership treats us like royalty too.

It looks a lot better in person, I drove it today and it drove fairly well for a sports car, its a 6 speed and I got them down to $12,900. I may be able to go lower.

It was a fun test drive, much faster than I thought.

Insurance is (surprise) $60 less a month.

I can count the times I have used it as a truck on one had.
Dad has a 1 ton dually, and there are 3 others trucks I can use if need be.

I spend 3.6 gallons a day to go to work and back, the car would be about 2 gallons a day at 20MPG.
Thats about $4.00+ less a day.

But I agree, the two seat thing is kind of a downer.

I would prefer it to be RWD and manual, the rest is not so important, so that rules out a lot. Not to say I won't look at any other car.

tomorrow on lunch I am going to try to get them lower than $12,900. I want to shoot for $10,500 I think thats a fair price, the car does have a lot of extra Items on it. I am also not fully aware that the sells man knows what it is, and what extras it has.

From what I could see, its been lowered a bit and has a new set of tires.
It has brembo brakes and drilled rotors.
The engine bay is very clean, not spotless but clean.
Not tacky riced but it looks tastefully done, and I was told that a older man traded it to a Mustang GT they had.
Also has a K&N Intake.

Now I am not dead set on the car and to be honest I was looking at a Grand Prix they have, and the G6 V-6 they have.
I test drove the G6 I4 and it was a nice car, but that was last year.

I really liked the "fun" factor of the car, but I am not entirely sure it would be a good pick in the long run.

They have a 07 V-6 Mustang, but I really don;t want a Auto/6 mustang.

I use 1/2 a tank in three days, if all I do is go to work and back. Thats $55 of 93, or about $53 of 87.
About $110 a week.
Its not the truck payment, is the gas mileage thats getting me.
If it keeps going up I would make more money just finding a job at a close fast food place.

I was just wondering, its good to get some thoughts. I also been on a 350Z forum and they seem to think its a fairly reliable car.

I did have a few minor issues with the car, and I did bring it up to the sales man.

Tomorrow I am going to try to get him down as low as I can on the price, then put my truck in on the deal, he offered me $12,000 with out looking at it very close, I owe $10,500.
I am going to start the car at $10,500 and see how far I can take that.

If not I can go else where.

I have looked at a few mustangs, and every Gt I have found between 06-09 has been $15,500 to over $21.

I am just looking, not dead set on anything but I would love to fun something smaller, and a bit more sporty. Saving gas is also nice.

I did look around at a few new cars like the focus, but I am not sure I want to go that deep into debt just yet.

I should have bought that camaro and sold the truck when I had the chance, I could have paid the camaro off This week for sure.

I took you advice and looked at a ford 500, found one listed for $12,900 57K miles and its a 2007.
This si directly down the road from the other dealer about 1/2 a mile.

How are the 500's?

JMHO, but it sounds like you should get an economy car.

Trucks and sports cars are not inexpensive to own.

What ever you do- be assertive and dominate to the salesmen. Be alpha and let him know you are buying a vehicle. Where you buy it is up to him. That will make him give a couple thousand at least

I would pass up that car personally. Just a quick search of my local craigslist revealed an identical car three years newer with over 20k less miles for only $500 more.http://shreveport.craigslist.org/cto/2254965638.html Why not check out the 99-04 model mustangs? My 03 GT is a lot of fun to drive and has the potential to break 20mpg but I drive it too hard and spray the nitrous too much and I only paid $10k for it with 56k miles. I even have a backseat, albeit small but it still allows me to strap in a car seat or carry more then one passenger if I have too. It doesn't cost any more to maintain a sports car then it does a truck. Unless your driving it hard or trying to build it to run a 10 second quarter mile time it won't cost any more then our trucks.

Well Ill be looking at the five hundred in the next little bit, hell I even thought about driving it to the other dealer just to make a point (the 500 to the place that has the 350) as I have to stop by there before I get to work.

I really liked the way the 500 looked, its a nice dark gray, almost looks black.
It has fewer miles and leather seats that I always wanted.
Same color interior as my truck.

It looks like my DVD will swap right over.

Owe $10.500 on the truck, was offered $11,000, and $11,000 on the car.
I drove a 2007 limited edition, the only thing between them is this one is much cheeper, and does not have heater seats/mirrors.

So, I could trade even, and get $500 cash in my pocket with the car on the road.

Insurance is the same price as the truck.

And I get to keep all my goodies so I can sell them to you guys! Besides the DVD player that will go back into the car, if I get it.
