That's pretty awesome, I myself couldn't do it. What a b/s move by the aunt.

Jim,

Thanks for the link to the story - I actually work for Huber Engineered Woods as a Business Development Mgr in the Northeast - our flagship product is the AdvanTech sub-flooring that this guy used. Great product and some nice pics in the story.

I've forwarded the link and some of the pics to our Division Marketing GM and Regional Sales Mgr for Kentucky to see if they can do something for him in appreciation for using our products.

Thanks again... Mike

Thanks for sharing that Bucky!! The guy has motivation and really good work ethic to go from bare lot to having a home for his family in less than six months.

Great story. I'd loved to have helped them on that project...looks like a lot of good learning.
I work for a pre-engineered metal building company. We do mostly large industrial buildings, but I've been toying with the idea of building a steel building house. Would be much stronger than any residential wood construction, easily expandable, and would last a lifetime.

This guy did what any American young man can do he manned up and just reading that thread i was humbled. I built my own home with my own hands so i know where he is coming from, I hold no mortgage, i owe no one, it was as hard a thing to do as anything i had ever tried but in the end i know just where this guy is coming from.

I had low hopes for our future generation of young people and after reading that guys thread there is much hope and maybe a bright spot moving ahead. I just hope more young people will pull their heads out of their azz cheeks and video games, cell phones and smell the way forward... Your kindness may become contagious and i know they are trying to get solar going up there but hey what a great gesture i applaud you..

PS: These are the people we should be rewarding not the low life scumbs that prey on the system, talking on their 400 dollar i phone while using the ebit card and zipping up the 500 dollar leather coat... This guy is a worker and a provider...

I know I couldn't do it...heck I tried to build a gingerbread house with my daughter and it got condemned!!!
