Looking too upgrade trucks and the results have been surprising.
Haven't been by the dodge dealer. I honestly wanna get another Ford but come on. $30,000 for a freaking xlt 2wd with a 4.6 3valve motor. If the truck had a nice list of options then maybe so.
I would not go with a Nissan Titan.. I work at a nissan dealership even. Trust me
. Some poorly made vehicles..plastic intakes are known to crack. The paint has very poor quality. They use very little clear coat so hello swirl marks and scratches. The interior is very fragile. You can literally cut into the plastic on the dash/doors with your finger nails. Most all of the leather is pleather with the exception of the outside bolsters btw. And if the 2wd has chrome wheels.. they are actually chrome covers that are glued to the wheels. Now, the engine(with the exception of the intake) are very stout. The transmissions are nice, but the rear ends have alot of problems with the limited slips. They are very heavy (not so good on gas). They do have their upsides to them. You can get the navigation which is pretty nice and the warranty is worth it if they have the 10yr/100k mile. Do not go with the paint/fabric protection if they try to offer it, and dont do window etching. They will most likely try to slap on window tint and most dealers charge in the upwards of $400 range for it(so you know). Little things like that in the back end is how the managers make their money.

So that should tell you how crappy a nissan really is if you can get one for $20,000 compared to a better quality f150.
^ X2 maybe swing on over here to TX, people get damn good deals here. I was just reading this post https://www.f150online.com/forums/4472436-post10.html
Call some ford dealers in the dfw area and see what they will do

actually its because titans dont sell anymore, they are a 7 year old truck, and need to move them.
is a one year old truck with 20k miles really worth it
Man, in the end its your money and your life.
If the truck you have now is paid for, why not just keep it and save up some cash? just wait a while man. Dont jump the gun and go buy something, the first thing you see or like.
I work with trucks everyday, I see all kinda of truck. Stirlings, internationals, mack.
Ford, chevy, dodge toyota, nissan, jeeps and hondas.
I see the interior of these trucks more than other people.
I take them apart, life carpert, remove trim and such to run wires for hands free kits and other things.
and I am telling you right now, every titan and tundra that has EVER rolled into where I work has a been a total **** box. period.
Seen a brand new, red 2009 tunda. looked like it had been to hell and back.
The trans gave out at 15K miles and the truck rolled off road and down a hill.
Guy just took it to the dealer and had it fixed.
Same problem, at 35K. (company truck so he didnt care what it looked like)
The carpet is lacking, and stapled, yes STAPLED in.
I have poked, slashes and cut my fingers and hand so many times working on titans and tunrdas its sad.
I have never (not saying they dont exist) seen a titan or tundra with over 50K in my shop.
I have never seen ANY of the gas companys buy anything but a ford or chevy (one tried dodge but they had too many issues) and even then 90% are chevy/gmc.
These trucks get treated like dirt, and keep on going. Im talking burred up in the mud to the middle of the wheels, overloaded EVERY day, over worked. Over sized tires.
There is a reason they places, and the deep mines here buy ford, or chevy/gmc.
Because they are built to last.
You can do what you want, or say what you want. It is after all your life and everyone is allowed a opinion.
If I was going to buy a new truck,
A dodge if I wanted power/looks (come one guys they are sharp and you know it) and didnt need to haul much.
A F-150 if i needed a 1/2 ton that can do some hauling and still rides great and looks good.
A tundra/titan if I wanted a truck that looks like a toe on the outside and has a cheep plastic inside.
*edit*
Also, you know the F-150 has a FULL boxed frame compared to the other trucks that do not?

Well i'm in the market for a new truck and have been exploring my options and sadly it's not looking good for Ford. I went too a nearby Nissan dealer yesterday and drove a 2011 Titan. This truck is pretty nice in my opinion. It was red with black fender flares. The interior was black with red stitching and looked pretty sweet. It had the Pro-4x package with 4wd,tow package, moon roof, power seats, locks, windows, console shifter and bluetooth. It was an impressive truck. My first time driving one. It has plenty of power and the 5 speed transmission was nice. The only problem was I wanted another Ford but when buying new vehicles I keep an open mind so I alway's drive the other offerings before buying. The $31,500 out the door price was pretty competitive also. Well today I stopped by the chevy dealership. Just looking at prices and options I left. In order too get one that looks good it's gonna cost almost $50,000 and this is with the 5.3 motor option. Then came the Ford dealership. Test drove a 2wd xlt 2011 crew cab with the 5.0. Highly impressed with this motor. It was faster and felt more powerful overall compared to the titan. This motor is a rocket and the trans was sweet as well. Ride quality is amazing and the new steering is so effortless. I was in love. The only problem was the price and options. Sinc, satellite radio and power seats, windows and locks was the only thing available on this truck and the only other 5.0 available was an extended cab.The interior wasn't even that impressive with the grey. Then came the sticker. $36,500 with only a $1,500 rebate before the taxes and other fees! So I decided too try and haggle on a 2010 model. The only one on the lot I liked was an xlt 4x4 with the 4.6 3valve motor. For $34,000 after the $4,500 rebate.
I haggled with them for over 3 hours and couldn't get that price dropped any. So I went back too Nissan and tried on the Pro-4x model again and could only get them down another $500. So I started on another titan. This one was a silver 2wd with moonroof, console shifter, backup sensors, bluetooth, power rear window, black cloth seats, dvd player, runningboards and got him down too $20,660 out the door before adding in the trade on my truck. I didn't make the swap but unless something happens between now and tomorrow Ill be going too the darkside.

Unlike some people I have an open mind. Sorry my blood is not blue. All this talk about interior and quality is quite funny too me. What about our sparkplug problems? My dash squeaks,my tailgate squeaks, our axle seals are pathetic,my seats got stained from water. Now don't get me wrong I love fords and my truck. Nothing major has went wrong and I would buy one in a heartbeat. If the price was right. Everyone that keeps thinking ford is problem free is dumb. I know people that are perfectly happy with their titans. No I haven't decided what I wanna do yet.
