blown transmission

Well I am real upset, mad, and a bunch more words I cant say.I need to vent and this will be the place . I just put a new trans in it 60000 miles ago and now Im doing it again. Oh its my 2001 F150 So what am I going to have to do a rebuild every 3 years. I did the last trans up pretty beefy different gears because of the tires and lift. I just dont understands it was driving fine then bang no reverce no 2 and 3 gear . The trans is going to be 1800 or so for the rebuild but I will get what I had before just out of the money. Well I guess that all for now thanks for listening

That indeed sucks. I can't understand how you're chewing up transmissions that fast. What model trans do you have? The 4r70w?

are you building the transmission? If not I'd hope the shop would have some kind of warranty.

Mutliple transmission failures?

Any chance you are hard on the truck?

Built Ford Tough is one thing, unbreakable is something else.

As they always used to say in the Lightning forum, you gotta pay to play.

Get it rebuilt by a quality rebuilder such as Darrin Burch. Either that or buy a Ford crate reman with a 3 year 100k warranty.

What size wheels and tires do you have? What gears are you running? Do you tow anything?

Your trans should go a lot further than 60k unless you are rolling 37" tires on stock gears or towing something ridiculous.

Since you have the 4r70w you may want to do the jmod to that trans. It might help you get more life out of it.

Do this. If you have a problem, the warranty is good at any Ford dealer.
