I hit the flashers for a split second. They think I'm braking so they slow down. Meanwhile, I'm still driving my normal speed. I'll do this as many times as I need to until they get the hint. Works every time. Although, I must admit, I'm usually the one on someone's ***. I have a bit of a lead foot.:o

So what do the rest of ya'll do?
I've always liked that one.

I really like this one

At night I click on some of my lights that are pointed backwards. They get the point REAL quick.
During the day I use the windshield wash.

I dont do the brake checks. I dont want to end up in a shop because the idiot was staring at their cell phone.

I dont really like to brake check, however, I will just lay off the gas til i end up about 10 mph under the speed limit, or ill get right next to another car so the riced out honda behind me cant pass. If they still dont get the message, I just throw my dip out the window. The latter seems to work best for some reason

I never get tailgated. I'm either the fastest vehicle, or I'm out of the way.

I think it depends on the road..... There is a law that the left lane is only for passing there is a statute for it..( NJ- 39:4–82 Failure to keep right - 2 points)so if you are hanging out doing 65-70-75 in it...get over to the middle or right lane b/c there are other ppl who might be going faster.

If its a single lane road and you are doing the speed limit and someone is tailgating...Ijsut slow down to about 20-30 mph under the speed limit, and they get the picture pretty quick and back down. Otherwise you just have to let out the oil slick.. hahaha

I would give no warning when I drove our big truck and just flip on the jake brake they got the idea and backed off. I do the same thing in my truck I just take my foot of the noisey pedal and I am also wating for some one to get introduced to the 2-5/16 ball hitch that is normally in the reciever.

I GET OUT OF THEIR WAY. I do not try and police the highway. I don't flip them off or slam on my brakes, that's dangerous. I'm not willing to risk my life for some azzhole. What I don't get is why we have some many tough guys out here. What's wrong with getting out of their way?

I agree. One of these days you will **** off the wrong person. Get out of the way and let the Richard head pass. No need to be a Richard head yourself.

I'm with the majority here. I'm usually in the slow lane, so I don't get tailgated much, if ever. And when I'm in my truck, I usually don't see them if the are tailgating me cause the truck sits up so high.

But back in my younger and dumber days, I did keep pennies in my ash tray and they weren't for purchasing anything. There was a few times where I had a real a-hole tailgating me, flashing headlights, etc. He usually got a fist full of those pennies tossed out which would hit his car. But I've grown past that now. Not worth causing an accident or getting shot over.

I'm another one who simply gets out of the way, if possible. One of the things that really impressed me during a visit to Ireland a few years back was how polite the drivers were. If you caught up to someone ahead of you, they would generally pull to the side to let you pass as soon as it was safe to do so. No one seemed to be in a hurry and everyone got where they were going as fast as they needed to.

I must admit though, I like the windshield washer treatment!

Most of the time we are on two lane roads up here with a 55MPH speed limit where I live but you can get away with 65. The big truck I used to drive was geared out or governed at 64 and I normally don't go over 63 in my personal truck but I have had people so close to me in both trucks I could not see the car behind me. I let quite a bit go but when I can not see the vehicle anymore because they are so close or I can not go any faster because of traffic I tend to get a little upset.

It depends on the day I'm having, I try to shrug it off and hope there is a cop ahead and I can slow down and laugh at them when I pass.

I agree also. Too many idiots on the roads today with roadrage. I'm sorry but flipping corn nuts and dip out the window just sounds stupid and is definitely escalating the situation...one day it you might do it to the wrong person.

In today's volatile world... there are shootings all over the place for much less than road rage. You can see it on the news all the time.

Besides, when you get pissed and brake check some douchebag without insurance, you pay for your damage not them. Yes you can sue, but that's after the fact.

+1000

I don't understand people's need to enforce their driving habits on other people. The way I see it, if someone is riding my tail I am partly in the wrong. The left lane is for passing and I am in their way. I don't have blue lights on top of my truck so the speed they want to drive is none of my concern.

However, this doesn't really happen to me very much. I'm normally going faster than most.
