My tundra took a dump after less than 2yrs & I am very light on my phones. Bought a new unlocked Blackberry 8830 off ebay to replace it.

Yes, they are. I have an upgrade available right now but every time you upgrade, your 2 year contract is renewed. I found out today that my contract with Verizon doesn't end until this June.

Ya sprint doesn't do that, I can upgrade and stay on the same contract. I have never understood how people can complain about sprints network and then tout verizon as being great, if you are not able to get service from a sprint tower then your phone will roam over to the verizon network and use their towers. Which means I have the exact same coverage as any verizon customer, and roaming onto yalls towers cost me nothing.

Check to see if your eligible for an early upgrade. I can renew around the same time as you but got an email saying I'm eligible for an early upgrade. If you upgrade before January 16 you still get 1 more New Every 2 discount.

my contract stays the same plan, and i dont see any big deal about adding 2 years when everything is the same anyway....... but a new phone, but then again i have been with verizon since it was cell one back in 1984.... JMHO

I had Verizon for about 6 years with virtually no trouble from service or phones - except the one I went swimming with. I switched to ATT just to get the iPhone. I'm incredibly happy with the phone but ATT coverage and service sucks. I'll be watching closely next month when Verizon unveils service for the iPhone.

I can't explain the update issue - I updated my Verizon phone occasionally but it was never an issue one way or the other. Sounds like you might do well to explore the type of case - if any - you use for the phone - i.e. rubberized for ruggedness, watertight, etc.

Having experienced both (I've had ATT for almost 2 years now, Verizon beats them hands down in every way.

I agree 100%. It will be interesting to see how the Verizon network deals with the influx of data usage from all the iPhone users. AT&T melted down; hopefully Verizon can manage it. The only thing that bugs me about Verizon is that you can't talk on the phone and use the internet at the same time. CDMA technology is seriously outdated in that regard. Hopefully when Verizon upgrades to the 4G network they will allow that feature.

I agree, browsing while talking would help.

This is why I love Sprint, that and (so far) unlimited everything for a decent family plan price is why I have stayed with them. I have never had any trouble getting service, except in Appalachia, VA, and nobody gets service there.

Update: I went to the Verizon store Wednesday afternoon to see what they would do about my constantly dying phone. I told them I have had it for 6-8 months. The guy looked up my account and is like you've had it for over a year. I'm like no, you must be looking at one of the 3 other phones on my plan. Sure enough he was and then said my phone was purchased back in 6/10. He then told me they would overnight me a new Convoy to use my battery with to see if it is a battery issue or phone issue. I activated my new (Verizon's term "like-new") phone Thursday afternoon with 3 bars on the battery. Right now I still have those same 3 bars, no recharges, which is how my phone normally was before everything happened. Kinda weird how the day after my phone updated itself everything went to crap and the phone wouldn't hold a charge. Now this newer phone works just fine. What the hell is Verizon doing to their phones and customers?????

BTW, I've been thinking of getting either an iphone or maybe something like a Droid when I am able to change companies/contracts in June. How exactly are the mb calculated for you guys with the data plans? Does everything you do use different amounts of mb and can someone break that down for me? I won't be using every app and everything there is available, mainly just internet to check emails or look something up and maybe catch something off Netflix every now and then. I just don't know what kind of plan I should be researching. Thanks.

I had sprint back in the days.. I had decent coverage, but they were lacking in phones. the.

Ive had ATT for the last several years and started with a iphone and now i have a Iphone 4. The phone itself is amazing. for the most part i have good service. out where our shop is i get sketchy data, but the voice service is fine.

alot of co-workers asking me if i will swap to verizion, but att has not let me down yet so i think ill stay
