I guess I live in the wrong place then. I see many more Lariats, Platinums and HDs around Dallas than I do XLs. My point being that the only realy the CAFE limits would have anything to do with the lower trims is volume. The only XLs I see around here are work trucks and I doubt most of them would opt for the 6.2. The amount of people who would by a 6.2 XL are small, so likely the reason we can't get one. But I'd buy one tonight if it was offered.

and where I live its the opposite. I see more XL than I do Harleys, Lariats or Platinums. I'm starting to think that only BMW's and Mercedes are sold in NYC

I'm betting that about 75% of the 2011 XL's sold will be with the base 3.7.

That is probably true, but wouldn't it be cool to have the option?
