Yep y'all are correct, for whatever reason I thought some years had frames, but it isn't too old so I think it should be fine. Just reinforce it. Hell there's a guy on pirate with an old grand cherokee on rockwells and 54s I believe.

Gotcha. My girlfriend has a similar Overland, but with the full time 4x4, no 2wd option. It was making a whining sound.... Turns out the transfer case is on its way out.

I have had several GC's including a 1998 that we sold w/ 112,000 miles on it, a 1999 that is sitting in the driveway and runs very well (except for the A/C) w/ 198,000 on it and my wife's 2008 w/ 27,000 that we are looking to trade for a 2011. While we have certainly had some repairs, nothin like you have pointed out. No issue w/ engine, tranny, diffs, brakes, etc. I pulled a 21 foot boat w/ the 99.
