Broke-down Need help!

To keep the story short my girlfriend just made her 250mile journey back to school with no problems. After she got off the freeway and drove into the city she said it was almost like the truck ran out of gas (although it was not) all dash lights came on and it shut down while still rolling. After a while she was able to start it right back up and it is running fine. Any ideas on what this could be or any explanation? Thanks for the help.

Vehicle Info:
2004 Ford Explorer, 104,000 miles.

Reminds me of what happened to my '03 Escape... did she happen to fill it with e85?

e85 does some really weird things to fuel mappings of vehicles.

From doing some research, the e85 actually will make a non-85 complient stall.

I really would not put it past her except there is no e85 stations around where we live, so that is out.

I will have her get the fuel filter changed thanks for the help.

I would have the battery checked. Fords act weird when the battery starts to fail. The alternator can be putting out fine and a dead cell will wreak havoc on it.
