My dad got a commercial grade Ariens snowblower. I'll have to dig up a pick, but he got a good one for sure. The metal parts is where it's at

The only way to go if you need to move a lot of snow is a Honda.Reliability is unsurpassed and for the 10 - 15 feet we get it is the only machine I would buy.Have a Honda 5518 tractor and also a 8hp walk behind track blower.

Obviously not the only way if some of us have Ariens that are over 30 years old. Granted some of us do not get as much snow as Truckee.

True........when I bought my Ariens, Honda was just importing motor-bikes.

I had a choice of Simplicity, Ariens or Cub Cadet.........No Honda's.

Bought mine at Ann Arbor Implement Sales and Service. My Sno-blower has lasted longer than the establishment. With one trip to the shop in 33 years and very little maintenance, other than 'summerizing'.

My neighbor just bought a new Ariens last year. Lots more bells and whistles than mine (like lights, no more cranking the chute around, a walk-behind cab,and electric starter standard) but mine does just as good as job as his.

Here is what I'll be using this winter

John does a great job with the snow. I have used that for the past few winters and I think it is so much better than a plow because I can dump the snow wherever I want.
This will be the first winter using the Toro though. I found it in the trash driving to work one day and figured "what the hell" and picked it up. I started it when I got home and it ran great. The only things it needs is a gas cap, and a nut to hold the handle together. It didn't have the key in it when I found it but my lawnmower key works for it.

I don't have one but used a neighbor's. It was a Toro and it worked well.

This is a pic of the first time I ever used a snowblower. At the tender age of 50. (I've lived a deprived life). Wearing three layers of shirts, two layers of jeans, insulated hiking boots, and no gloves. Because some things have to be learned the hard way.

There wasn't much snow but it was damn cold. (Jan. '10)

I was watching my neighbor clear a deeper area of snow that had piled up against his garage. I asked to use it to see what it was like. Beats using a shovel. My driveway runs to the left of this pic and is long. Using this Toro regularly was easy and kept snow from accumulating too deep which made driving my car out to the street no big deal.

I can't speak from experience, but the Toro was easy to use and had no problems.

10.5 hp Craftsman with a 29" wide cut. Works awesome, throws stones and kills extension cords without a hiccup.....

Perfect snow and weather for clearing. It sucks when it gets wet underneath or when it's tracked down. Takes the fun out of it.

Thanks,it has been a busy week with four and a half feet of the white stuff falling since Friday.I plow at work all day and then come home and enjoy doing it all over again. This is a pic of a couple of years ago.
