Is this possible: HIDS

When I went from the stock bulb to HIDs I had no problem with people flashing me or the aim of my bulbs. I had to replace one of the bulbs so I removed the headlight housing and installed the new bulb, one person has flashed me and I can see where the bulb looks like its aiming a little high. Could me just removing the housing and installing a new bulb mess up the aim?

Yes it can. Make sure the bulb is fully seated. Then make sure all of the bolts that hold the headlight housing are fully tightened, and compare your headlight position to the other side. If you have the time, I would re-aim to standards just to be sure.

If you aren't familiar with the process, this is a pretty good video on it. They even use an F150.

The locking ring on my HIDs are a little loose so the bulbs in mine propagate up and down sometimes. I'm thinking about switching back to Sylvanias, I miss having a nice cut-off and working high-beams

I think mine are a little loose. I think the issue could be fixed by a thicker washer or o-ring or something. Maybe adding a second thin one.

I would switch back to halogens if they had 6k halogens.

i LOVE the color of HIDs, but the different length of the bulb is screwing up my light pattern and my supposed "bi-xenon" kit doesnt even work.

You can get the blue-coated HELLAs that put out a 5500K light beam.

Of course Chris uses an F150. It is his favorite vehicle. After all he and Steve created this site and then Chris went on to create FordTruckWorld and then sold that. He is a great guy.

yeah it can really easily, hids are really sensitive and since the bulb is so bright even the slightest movement will make the bulbs aim off. id suggest pulling up to a flat, like 4" away, and then mark the spot with tape, then back up about 25' and then aim the lights according to the tape. Be sure that your truck is on a flat surface.

Also without starting a new thread what are the sizes of the other bulbs in the headlight housing (corner bulb and bulb next to headlight) and is the fog a 9145?
