It's a dirt trail, a government road actually, only open during hunting seasons. It gets pretty bad in some spots, especially when it's wet out. At the bottom on both sides it's paved, but not up on the mountain. It was an Indian trail before it was a road, it's been used for thousands of years, and at one point it was the main way to get from TN into VA, at least in that part. Very very old route, but rarely used now. There are cars down over the hill because it's a single lane road with a cliff on one side and a straight 100ft bank on the other, so if you wreck, you pretty much have to leave it, neat to see the old cars down there.

Seeing stuff like that makes me wish I didn't live in Louisiana, but then I go eat and I'm reminded why I live here.

Looks like a blast.

I'd have been stuck by that abandoned backhoe for an hour or more while my little boy played on it......

That trail ride looks like a nice way to kill a day.....

About 3 and a half hours from Stuart, Big Stone Gap is down in the tip of the state, but very similar places.
