I usually buy Eggland's Best so I'm ok. But check your eggs before you use them.

As this country continues it's downward sprial we will see more and more of this. People just don't give a chite anymore, young people 20-30 now a days (not all but most) have had everything given to them by thier parents and they don't have a clue of what hard work is. Nobody seems to give a **** anymore so they just let it pass. I know i supervise 17 people and most of the younger crowd are a bunch of crybabies, winers all complain about everybody but themselves.. DON'T get =me started... I grow my own veggies, buy only farm fresh eggs and milk and beef, pork etc.. These folks care about what they sell.

Yet another reason to buy local. It's also a message to anyone who is on the fence about producing some of their own food like buckdropper does, to get off the fence.

Had to walk to school in 40 miles of snow, uphill, both ways when you were young or are you just naturally grumpy?

Dusky i am just stating the facts, and I had to walk barefoot in the snow so get it straight okay... and yes we did walk to school no dam busses. I am a very happy guy but when i see these kids today refusing to even help out thier parents let alone being spoiled at work crying about how hard it is, really!! give me a break..
I spent 3 years on a naval vessel in the boiler room before moving onto better things and when the temp was 140 down there i'd get a boner as i was just happy to be involved....

Bucky, i'm with ya 100%, but us city folk can't depend on what we can produce on our own, just like you can't survive without the city folks medicine, power, sewer, water, garbage disposal, etc.

I'd much rather buy my eggs, chicken, beef, pork, veggies, milk, etcfrommy local farmer than the mega-mart, but more often than not, it's much easier to go to food lion, Harris teeter, kroger, meijers, etc than it is to go to the farms.

If I could do all my shopping at the farmers market, I would.

I remember when I was a kid - one of my chores was to ride my bike a mile or so up the road after school to an old lady's house and buy eggs. We also had a milkman - remember them? Milk, butter, and OJ delivered before dawn.

I have to agree wholeheartedly with Bucky---many of my student seem to have no work ethic---they say they are "tired." They do not know what tired is.

Yep--we had a mailman, a bread man (I thin from Nickle's Bakery) and the Charles Chips guy showed up with a huge can of Charles' Potato Chips once a week. Of course, grocery stores closed at 6 PM and were closed on Sundays, too...

Always cook your eggs thoroughly and keep your hands clean and you'll be fine. No need to create mass hysteria. Common sense goes a long way.

Good thing I get all my eggs locally now. I just have to go out to my garage to get them.

I get 3-7 eggs daily right now and haven't had to buy eggs in like 2 weeks. It just takes about 18 weeks from birth for chickens to start laying eggs.
Seriously though, make sure you wash your eggs well before you use them, wash your hands after handling and cook them thoroughly and you won't have any problems.

That's just it, no one has nor uses common sense anymore.

So what you are saying is that the demise of the American civilization, as we know it, can be directly attributed to the lack of parenting skills of the now 40, 50 and even some 60 year olds. If these parents were better skilled at raising their children and not derelict in their responsibilities, the by your logic, all of these "entitled" young adults would have better sense of community and thus America would not be on the brink of moral collapse.
