Log Splitters--Which Ones Do You Guys Have?
i have a old crapsman its as old as my kid 11. years old have had to put a edge on the blade a few times and she leaks like a Harley Davidson but its not a problem to split oak rounds still green 18" long by like 3' wide. the brigs and stratton is a charm to start when its cold! had a Honda on my brothers ranch and it dose well but wont keep up with mine in the green rounds. (stalls out easy if you dont watch what you doing) ill lend ya a 15 year old boy who is like 6'3" and 300# who love to swing a sledgehammer in to a maul wedge! lol
I made our at the farm, it has 12.5hp briggs and stratton, motor powering it other than that all the hydro stuff I had laying around, Theres nothing I haven't put in it that it won't split, ive bent the inch thick plate on the end a couple times I know that lol.
I found a goldmine of firewood, I have cut it; it just needs to be slpit.

I wish I lived in a climate that catered to needing a log splitter. We get about 30 days of 30* weather and that's about it. WEAK. I want cold and snow!

I am new here but this thread peaked my interest. I have been looking a few splitters my self. Trying to buy an American made splitter and kind of like the Iron & Oak's. I seen a few here: Log Splitters
Well---
No matter where you go around here, they are all pretty much the same. I ended up buying a Troy-bilt 27-ton splitter with a a Honda 160cc engine. I looked at bigger, more powerful splitters (like a 33-ton job), but decided that anything that big would indicate that i am working too hard and cutting wood that is too big for me.
