They work and they are convenient. This is the 3rd season on both of them, no problems. My cheapass Harbor Freight 18 volt drill works fine too. My demands on all of those things are quite modest.

That is all you will need. BG55. I also use nothing but Stihl products. This is the same model leaf blower I have used for a few years now. I have had zero problems, and it's running strong!

My dad bought Stihl chainsaws, weedwacker, and blower for use down at the lake. I sometimes actually look forward to doing things around the house. Stihl makes some great machines and the backpack models are very light compared to some of the older stuff I have at my house currently.

I have craftsman blower. The thing hasn't run right since I bought it new, about 5 years ago. I have to run it with the choke half way on. I thought maybe it was just lean so I even tried mixing the oil ratio a little higher, but that only fouled the plug.
All I use it for is to blow clippings off of the lawn mower deck when I finish mowing. So I don't worry about it to much

I do like Stihl products, and they do seem a little expensive. But it really comes down to ,"How bad do you need it?"

Nice!....I have a Craftsman with the exact same issues as well. It also overheats then wont run or start until it cools.

I bought a Stihl weedeater last year and it has been awesome. I plan to upgrade my blower this fall to either a Stihl or Echo.

If I needed it for anything more than blowing the lawn mower deck, I would've already donated it to yonder land. I don't even run mine for 5 minutes at a time.
The good thing I can say about it. I pump the primer bulb about 10 times, pull the rope about 3 times, hold my mouth right, play with the choke while it warms up, it cranks every time. Just took me a while to learn the combination

I wonder how many people have the same POS, even under different brand names

I'm gonna go against everyone here and recommend echo
I mow while I'm in college and have had 3 for 4 years now.
Backpack all the way, and the bigger the better. how ever big your budget allows. only time ever in the shop was because i ran over the handle with the riding mower.

Those are all pretty wussified IMO. I've used one like this for years, except it's a John Deere -

Not quite that big, but I swap engines with it once in awhile. I use a 5 horse and a 9.5 horse lol.

Right, - Damn thing got away from me once clearing the fence line next to the driveway.

I switched the shoot to blow forward and at some point I let go of it to move something out the way.

Well, I wasn't thinkin, I left it wide open, took one step away and she took off backwards. I took off after it, thought I could catch it at first, but it picked up speed to quick.

It's a fairly long drive on one side of the property, leading back to the pole barn, -all concrete.

Well I watch that thing go all the way back down drive toward the barn, -inching it's way toward the center of the drive, then SLAM!

Nice big dent in my 14x24 door. It didn't go thru it, but it knocked the inside of the lower panels off, just the insulation covers, - sheared the rivets.

It's a beast, - the dog don't bark at that one anymore . That's a whole other story lol.
