I knew I should have taken a picture of the Mercury Cougar i towed last winter (2010) during that huge snowstorm....

I clearly said fishing boat/trailer hitched up, not anything else.

Since you can't hitch up a fishing boat to a truck, it's got to be on a trailer to be hitched up to the truck. That's why I said fishing boat/trailer.

In the English language, when two things are divided by a forward slash as to emphasis as an "or" so in your case I was reading it as:

"fishing boat OR trailer"

That's something I've learned in college.

college is sure paying off

the forward slash is used for an and/or

for example
a fishing boat and fishing trailer or
a fishing boat or fishing trailer

and seeing how you cannot reliably tow a boat without a trailer
