Hello everybody, I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. I was born and raised in South Florida and just recently moved to Georgetown, Texas. I just sold my Mustang and picked up a 2004 STX Supercab 4x4 Stepside with 64K miles.

I am usually big on doing all the mods myself but this one had some tasteful costly upgrades already done with a Fabtech Performance Lift with the Dirt Logic Coilovers, 20" XD Rockstars, and 35" Mud Grapplers. It still has the stock 3.73 gears but the truck belonged to the son of the owner of Coral Cadillac in South Florida so it came with a lifetime powertrain warranty.

The forum looks great and I look forward to spending way to much time on it!

Adam

Welcome, I'm just down the road from you south of austin.
A good upgrade would be a programmer to give you a bit more power and mileage if your lucky.

I am really enjoying the area here, the temp is the same as South Florida but the humidity isn't there and it is a lot cooler at night. I am planning on doing the K&N 77 Series Intake, True Dual side exit Flowmaster 40's, and the Edge Evo to add some power to the 4.6 engine.

Cool, I've got the 4.6 and I'll say it now, look into the gotts mod. Dont waste money on the expensive intake. You can still use a K&N drop in filter like I did.
Flowmaster 40's sound awesome. I just swapped to a si/so on mine but I'm glad I did.
Look into the Gryphon programmers, they have more options and the ability to add a custom tune at the same price (if not cheaper) than the evo.

Thanks a lot, I just took a quick look at the gotts mod and it seems like a great alternative to the CAI and maintains the stock look for warranty claims. I have heard a lot of good things about PHP and the gryphon. What are the good off roading places in this area?

The gotts mod also eliminates the worry of running lean because the maf sensor correctly reads the amount of air coming in allowing for the computer to make accurate adjustments.

There aren't many good off road places that are free thanks to the eco-***** but there are a few off road parks. Hidden Falls is a good one that I've been to. Any others around the Austin area are unknown to me.

I'm sold on the gotts mod, thanks for the info. I knew Austin was "green" but I had no idea. I will have to check out Hidden Falls, thanks again for all the good info.

Unless you're overly-fascinated with water (both the kind you swim in and the kind you sweat in) you made an excellent change in geography!

Welcome fellow "Texan".

You will enjoy Georgetown. There is a lot to do there, whether it be in Austin itself, or heading out to the Texas hill country to just have a good time.

If your a fan of heading out on the water (lakes, rivers, etc) check into Marble Falls Lake or Lyndon Johnson Lake, which is about an hour to 1.5 hrs east of Georgetown down Hwy 29 and Hwy 281.

Johnson lake has some awesome fishing. I'm closer to Canyon so it's been a LONG time since I was there.

Welcome to the forum. I'm just south of you as well in Kyle and work in San Marcos. If you want to experience the best the Texas Hill Country has to offer come float the river(s).
