Not anymore. We have had Hamsters, Mice, Rats, Rabbits and Ferrets in the past. Right now the smallest pet we have is a cat, unless you count Bob:

Bob's cute! I never had on but I used to be the only one in my high school biology class who would pick him up. I had a guinea pig at that time named Cleo. She was fun but more maintenance than a dog (those things pee and poop like nobody's business; I had to clean the cage daily).

My kids had parakeets and gerbils. They were also fun but, again, a pain in the neck to care for. The kinds were supposed to do it but I'm sure you all know how that goes. We also had a couple of small poodles. They were just as fun and actually were less hassle.

Tropical fish were less hassle and nice to watch but they were somewhat less than affectionate.

It wasn't a dog or a cat, but it was still a pet.

Bob was my husbands birthday present about 6 years ago. She is a Costa Rican Zebra. Yes Bob is a female, they live longer than the male tarantulas. She's Bob because my husband thought I was weird to name a spider so he said "OK, her name is Bob" as a joke but the name stuck!

Thanks! We don't hold Bob. She's not slow moving like some tarantulas, she's quick and if she darts off your hand and falls on the floor it could potentially kill her.

I don't wake up next to her, she's not allowed to run free, she lives in an old aquarium and has never escaped it.
