Any Camera Experts???

My dad bought a Fuji s5000 camera a few years back and never used it, he said it was too complicated to use so today he ended up giving it to me. It looks to be a real nice camera but when i turn it on all i get is a white screen. There are no error codes but just a white screen. Any Ideas would be apprecitated

Can you change any of the options? Maybe the exposure is way up, and the photos are coming out overexposed? Does it still do it if the picture is taken is a mostly dark room?

Don't know about cameras, just guessing here.

NVM, seems like it's a common problem from googling it.

Here's what one person said:
"The CCD is broken, happens after about 4 to 5 years, very common problem.
Best solution is to buy another camera."

EDIT2: Try contacting Fuji. Some people have gotten their repaired for free, assuming it was the CCD.

best bet is to send it in for service. it would be cheaper than a new camera.

I see service manuals for that camera on Ebay in .pdf format for 5 bucks. I also see some parts for them on sale.
