Think twice before riding in the back of pickup

This is a little graphic towards the end but makes you realize how quick things can happen when a total idiot is behind the wheel

And that's why my dad told me to never ride on the side of the bed....even though it'd take more than one person to rock a F-350 into a roll.

Still sucks to see that happen.

There was at least 8-10 people in the bed of that Yota and that would have had to weigh well over #1200 all by itself... Why they started to swerve is a mystery to me???

If the driver did that on purpose, then WTF???

That was just totally irresponsible and a total waste of life, as I'm sure that last guy that got flung out of the bed and basically landed on was DOA.. The driver of the truck didn't look too good either...

I used to ride in the back of pickups all the time as a kid.... This was back in the 70's and 80's and even when us teenagers were driving and nothing like that even came close to happening.... I have both drove trucks with people in the bed and been in the bed of someone driving and nothing like that would have ever entered our brains in doing something like that.....

You also have to ask how or why someone would even think of video taping something like that?? Did they know they were going to do something so stupid???

Mitch

It may be graphic, but if it keeps someone from doing it in the future, it's acceptable.

That's insane.
Why on earth would you ever even think of swerving with a bed full of people?
That's just... how some people survive natural selection confuses me.

The video appears to be candid.

That is someone that was sitting sideways in the "extended cab" portion. 80s and 90s trucks had the sidways jump seats in extended cabs. My grandfather had a 88 ranger that had jumpseats that folded down out of the side walls.

Who is dumb enough to swerve that much in the first place especially with that much weight in the back of a yoder? Looks horrible though.

When you get that many people sitting on the side of a small, light-weight truck like that one, all it takes is a sudden shift in weight to make it start to sway. and once it starts swaying, it only gets worse....all he had to do was slow down and everything would've been ok...the worst thing you can do it try to recover the vehicle from it. as you could tell from the video.

Wow! Even though most don't like CA it is illegal here to ride on the back of a pick up truck unless the pickup bed has a seat with a functioning seat belt to secure the passenger.

The video you posted reminded me of this one.
