McChrystal
Funny thing is most of the quotes in the article aren't even from him, they are from his aides. Obama got his poor little feelings hurt and now McChrystal is being called to the principals office. Obama needs to grow a set and actually pay attention to the war and the oil spill instead of ramming crappy legislation down our throats and playing golf.
i am sure mcchrystal is frustrated that he is trying to do what is right for our country and obama on every action does what is wrong and damaging to the country. i am convinced that obama is part of the enemy inside.
If he wanted to keep his job, it was extremely risky doing an interview.
I expect we will hear soon that he is being replaced by 'mutual agreement'. The Executive Branch just needs a little time to prime the Spin Machine.

If the President does not can McChrystal, Obama will move down a rung on my respect ladder.
...and you have my permission to release that statement as public.
McChrystal and I were at Bragg at the same time, when he was a Butter Bar.

yes the only way Obama can keep what little bit of respect he has he will have to fire him and thats not good because now we have to find some other general to take over, what ever he wanted to say he and the aides should have said that crap in private but another good soldier lots.
Too late buddy, ha. Thats the problem, you cant speak out like that and expect to get away with it. At the same time, firing McCrystal would destroy a lot of progress and ties in Afghanistan. Lose lose situation for both
Normally, I try to stay out of most of these discussions, but since I have 20 years of active duty behind me, I'll have to weigh in.
What McCrystal did was very similar to what MacArthur did when Harry Truman was President. MacArthur was properly fired.
In the military, you do NOT criticize your Commander in public. Imagine, you are about to go into battle and your Brigade Commander tells you, and the rest of his troops that you will be following a flawed plan devised by the Division Commander and that you're just going to have to suck it up and die like a man, because in his opinion, that is what will happen to all of you.
The military simply cannot operate that way. The battle plan is devised at headquarters and the duty of everyone is to support that plan.
It is fine to disagree and propose alternate plans in private. In fact, commanders are required to do this. It's how effective planning is accomplished. But once a plan is finalized, it must be supported at all levels.
When a commander complains publicly that a plan is flawed, he is showing total immaturity and is violating his oath as an officer.
In my opinion, McCrystal is not fit for command and should be relieved. It's a shame, really, because he seems to have a handle on COIN operations.

Jack thank you for your service.
I agree that he is going to have to go and it is a shame. McChrystal has got to be so frustrated having to follow orders from this administration that has no ability to lead. A president that pretty much dispises the military and the very country he serves. I can not imagine the moral argument the Genreal has to go through daily to follow his "commander in community activist" when the out come is measured in human lives.
This is yet another example of how Oblame-a will throw good people under the bus to make himself look good! I think that maybe the bus is going to need a lift kit before we can get him out of office.
