obamas speech

he is more concerned with his cap and tax and blaming bush than actually getting a handle on the oil spill problem.

i dislike this guy more and more everytime i hear him talk. he is worthless and should just delegate the responsibility to someone that cares about our country.

what has he accomplished besides obamacare, that most americans want repealed?

he has done more to divide people than bring them together.

any one agree? disagree?

As usual his speech was a bunch of generic main points with little actual details as to how to get it done. His lack of executive experience is becoming more and more obvious everyday. The fact that he "can't let a good crisis go to waste" to help try to ram cap and trade down or throats disgust me. The speech last night should have been nothing but how to fix the spill and getting it done NOW, not generic main points a 2nd grader could come up with and a few minutes of cheerleading for a new cap and trade bill that nobody wants.

It's pretty bad when the Demodonts mouth piece, MSNBC, slams Obama. Olberman and his guests pretty much said the speech was worthless and showed no executive leadership. Well duh, Obama has no experience as an executive. He passed up the time and opportunity to actually do something that would help so he could go play golf. When it is too late he tries to do something. Now he's stuck, because it is too late to do anything that is helpful.

Although I do like the fact that he is telling BP they must pay out faster. The last time I checked BP could tell everyone to pound sand they have to sue to get their money.

BP has already paid out substatially more money than what is required by our laws. Anything they are spending now is to try and save face. If they do sue, BP would have a decent aurguement that the only reason that the leak is still active is because of how deep the water is. Which is due to the dems in washington. I heard an interview with the former CEO of Chevron, who said if this had happened in the shallower waters that they all want drill in, divers would have had this leak stopped in days, not weeks or months. (NCSU care to elaborate?)

Also, our government taxes the living crap out of these oil companies and has put a substancial amount of money (billions) into a fund for accidents like this, yet has not sent any of that money on this problem.

As for obama's speech, I literally cannot stomach watchin him speak.

I agree 100%

The only thing we have seen in the aspect of "change" Is that we now have have a chain smoking finger pointer in office now. That is establishing a soon to fail health care system that benifits no one and hurts millions

Good choice America?

And you gotta love his anti Troops mentality. This guy is by far the most anti American president we have ever had.

Whilling decided not to attend Arlington for memorial day as was tradition by the presidents before him. He wouldnt know what it means to a service member tho to lay a wreath on the grave of the unknown Soldier and honor all of his fallen friends/family members and most of all Brothers. As he never served in his life.

He lost every bit of respect I had remaining for him when he bassicaly put his hand out and slapped the face of every Service member, Veteran or family member of one of those mentioned.

I hate the guy with a passion

That's probably accurate. The deepest you consider sending divers down might be as much as ~2,500 feet, but anything beyond that would require some kind of ROV or other submersible. Plus, the deeper you go, everything becomes more difficult, time consuming and expensive.

It wouldn't be an easy job, but in my opinion, if human hands were able to actually touch the problem, the leak would have been stopped long before now.

I agree Obama has been a huge disappoitment. Still, he is a huge improvement over what McCain/Palin would have been.

Oh, you've figured out how to cross over to that parallel universe? Can you explain how you did it so the rest of us can get the hell out of Dodge?!

As stated earlier, looks like our favorite Liberal journalists @ MSNBC had a few things to say Obama's speech last night. Here's a few quotes. You know you've hit "Barack bottom" when Olberman and Matthews start calling you out on all your BS...

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/vid...e_command.html

Olbermann: "It was a great speech if you were on another planet for the last 57 days."

Matthews compared Obama to Carter.

Olbermann: "Nothing specific at all was said."

Matthews: "No direction."

Howard Fineman: "He wasn't specific enough."

Olbermann: "I don't think he aimed low, I don't think he aimed at all. It's startling."

Howard Fineman: Obama should be acting like a "commander-in-chief."

Matthews: Ludicrous that he keeps saying [Secretary of Energy] Chu has a Nobel prize. "I'll barf if he does it one more time."

Matthews: "A lot of meritocracy, a lot of blue ribbon talk."

Matthews: "I don't sense executive command."

That's quite debatable. I don't agree with you on that. I voted for them not because I'm a Republican, I did it as the lesser of the evils.

I wonder if Matthews still gets that tingling feeling up his leg over O-BLAME-A?

Oh my God -- that clip of Carter was brutal! He was the first President I really remember, but didn't he realize he was such a "dead fish" on camera.....
