Here in Northern IL they are about $5.50/pack. I think Chicago/Cook county they are about $8.00/pack. Hopefully it won't matter anymore since I decided when I woke up Wednesday morning that I am quiting. So far so good.

Don't... disgusting. I heard a rock star quit the other day because he could not afford it. I could not either at $8 a pack.

Damn! Is that what they go for these days? I was paying $3 a pack for MB's but I quit as part of my Y2K resolution.

Jeebus, I quit when MB's were $1.50 a pack.

I don't know whether to be glad I missed paying that much for a pack of cigs or to be sad to realize how old that makes me. LOL

Last pack I bought was about 2 weeks ago and they were $6.xx out the door. Kool Milds in a box. I only smoke when I drink, but seeing as they cost more than a six pack of longneck Lonestar...I'll just bum one or two off my buddies. I was down to only smoking maybe 5 or 6 while out on the town any way.

By the way this is in Cypress, Tx

1 pack a day x 365 days per year x $5/pack = $1825/year.

Man, I'm glad for that reason alone I don't smoke cigs.

Just read an article about how some guys here in NC and CA got busted for tobacco tax fraud. Would ship NC cigs to CA and resell them with fake tax stamps. Supposedly they made millions.

Anyone wanna make some money?

LOL! That's how I feel too! I recall paying $2.50 a pack and a carton was $20 when I quit because it was too expensive! It's been well over 15 years now too!

I quit in 93 when MD jacked up their taxes. Don't even remember what the price was then, but being I smoked 2-3 packs a day for 21 years, it was significant.
