Another http://www.f150forum.com gem...

Q: Dose anyone have a good way to make a custom cold air intake? Or some good pics of some cold airs. Cause those systems are so exspensive. Im NOT buying one ill make one!
A: I'm in the process of making one out of 3" exhaust pipe or 4" aluminum pipe and an old stainless steel box I have laying around the shop. Still in the mock up stage but will post pics when I really get rollin on it.
Anyone want to take a guess at the MAF transfer function?

Are you going to post that TF template in his thread?

Why don't you include the link to the Green intake that ships with yer SGMS Perf Chip? Might save the feller some dee-zine work

***Added: late-breaking Innovation: Suggest that he tie-wrap the MAF to the grille - as it's a HUGE impediment to smooth laminar flow in the intake tube ! Gotta work, right? The faster ya go the more air goes by the grille!. NO pesky MAF TF to rewrite. AND the IAT will always read lower ! Simple. Elegant. COOL.

I damn near forgot about my STUPID device and my GREEN intake.

Couple his customized intake, my STUPID chip, GREEN intake, and your FARTMaster exhaust and he's good for 450 RWHP!

Brilliant!

I sense a massive Combo package dealio here. Add that latest Innovation - the MARK 1 MAF Relocation Kit, and we'll make out like bandits!

Hell - we could even throw in the ASSHAT Module from the POOPIES Suite (Developed by Sphincter Software, Release 1.0, for Windows 7).

Even the daily OCI threads are funnier at f150forum.com.

Don't believe me? How about this gem:

7.5k is way to long for me even 5k is longer than I let it go I change mine under normal driving at 4k If I was going to keep the truck for a while I would change it at 3.5k and then get the free one at 7.5k but I know the owners manual says to let it go longer but for the price of an oil change I like the peace of mind that comes with an oil change, even at 3k you can hear the difference in the engien it's much smoother and quiet.
So in addition to a butt dyno, we need an oil change sound analyzer.

I put this as nice as possible, but I'm sure I harmed the feelings of the Pool Boy in some way...

This way you would be able to tune your truck as well as have a code reader.
That what I did for my 2001 F150

canned tunes < custom tunes

why you people are still hung up on humping the legs of canned tuning devices I will never understand
