You think Ford still recommends BP??

So I filling up my tank today and looking at my gas cap and chuckled to my self when I read "Ford Recommends BP" after the whole oil rig spilling on the coast. So you think Ford will still recommend BP.

Why not. Accidents happen. I cannot understand the attitude of some people, who state why we should never drill because of accidents.
These same people get in a car, or train, or plane everyday. With there attitude, they should never leave the house.

They will recommend it as long as BP pays for the gas covers.

Ya know, ya just gotta stand up for a company like BP. Here they've been fading the heat over this oil spill and taking responsibility for it yet they were not running the rig. Look to Transocean and Haliburton for the full responsibility of the negligence in this debacle. Most likely, Haliburton will end up being the final cause of this "accident" but considering they are the Gov'ts golden boy, they'll never see a missing dollar over it. They would have been the technical for installing the failed BOP........if they actually ever installed it. Yeah, they are that sleazy.

Yeah I mean I support offshore drilling for oil I just feel like when push comes to shove and someone has to take the blame there are going to be alot of people giving BP bad media and didnt know if that would somehow reflect poorly on Ford cause they stand behind them.

Do the new trucks still have those BP caps anyway? We had an 06' Escape that had one. I don't think our 08' Escape has it though.

BP is always so damn expensive around my way. Quite a bit more then the other places. I always get Shell on $0.05 off Thursday's .

Yea, I get BP anyways. I haven't done the math, but feel strongly that I get more out of a tank of BP then the other companies.

The fact that BP is standing up, and taking action on this is awesome. Even while getting bad publicity. I know it would be worse if they did nothing, but at least they are trying, no matter whats the reasoning behind it.

Yep, they took them over a few years back. BP has not been the best at hiring technical for it's operations. They also paid BIG time for a spill in Alaska a while back and had to replace something like 16 miles of pipeline plus cleanup. Again, not BP people doing it but operations folks from other company's that are suppose to be taking care of business. Seems like to me it would be far cheaper to direct hire folks instead of the grossly over priced incompetent subs they've been getting.

It's my understanding the industry is running out of experienced work crews. The experienced workers are being bought, paid high dollar contracted by certain companies and leaving other companies with less experienced crews. I assume BP since it is contracting work to the lowest bidder is winding up with inexperienced crews doing some of their work, hence their issues. Not saying the recent rig explosion and resulting spill is one, that was a completely unfortunate accident.

The other reason I don't go to BP is the one in my town is not the cleanest establishment in my town in more ways then one. Quiktrip is always great.
