New pups!

We have always had dogs and in the past 4 months lost both of ours due to old age/health reasons. One was 16 and the other 13. Anyway things just aren't the same at the house without a dog around so we went by the local shelter and found two great girls!

Suzie

Sharlet

After a little research it looks like they are both a breed of dog rather than just mutts. Suzie is about 5 months and is a Golden Retriever/Labrador mix. Found out they are called Goldadors or sometimes Golden Labs. Sharlet is about 2 and appears to be a Mcnab Shepard which I had never heard of but apparently is fairly common among ranchers out west.

They are both very good dogs and are great with my kids. Sharlet was down to her last few days at the shelter and just gave me a look so I had to take her. She already knows many commands and is house broken. I think she is one of the smartest dogs I have ever been around. Suzie for a puppy is really laid back, easy going and learning fast but still has all that puppy fun.

Sorry for all the info. I am just excited and had to share!

That is just great! I love to hear rescue stories. Dogs and cats add so much to a household and family.

I love shelter dogs, I rescued my black lab from there and he is the best dog I have ever owned.. he never wants to leave my side and listens to everything I say.

Great looking dogs, ab46501!

If you go out walking with your kids, Sharlet may try to "herd" them! The Golden Lab is a beauty too. I think you'll find they're both VERY smart dogs.

If I was going to get a dog, it would probably be a Yellow Lab or a Border Collie. They are just super dogs with kids or other animals.

lol Thanks! We live on acerage and have gone on several walks. She seems to like to act as a lead scout? Back and forth in front but never too far and always very aware of where we are.

Thanks! It almost seems like they know you did them a huge favor?

Good for you going to the shelter. We too lost one of our beloved boxers just a month ago and it has not been the same. The other one is so lost and I feel so terrible for her. I too will be visiting my local shelter as soon as the time is right to bring home another dog.

As for the cats I have no use for them. Just down right nasty critters and worhtless. Of course this is coming from a guy that has an inside one that I hate with a passion.

Thanks guys!

Micheal,

lol We have two cats. Can's say I am a cat person but they earn their keep in the amount of mice the get rid of! I found a dead mouse on the front porch just this morning.
