Tempur-Pedic Mattress

Anyone here have one? If so, what model? In the market for a new mattress, and these things are awesome to sit on at the store. Just curious if you feel they are worth it? I mean $2000 - $2500 for a mattress is a lot of money, and thats the cheaper ones.

Thoughts/feedback?

Don't know obout the temper-pedic, that is a chunk of change.
I've got the sleep number one and really like it. My can turn her side down and I can have mine firm-it's great. Might want ti check those out too, plus I think they are less expensive.

My sister and brother-in-law had one. They returned it within the first 30 days under a trail period. They had one of the more expensive models, but they said it was too hot and they would sweat all night.

I bought one and it was a model that was supposed to be cooler feeling. It was good before and right after my back surgery since I didn't move much with it. My wife and I hated that mattress and gave it to our daughter. She hated it too and we just recently threw it in the dump. Not even 5 years old and no one we knew would even take it for free. Personally I think they are way over priced and way over rated. I realize there are people that love theirs but we like our pillow top Serta much more and it cost about a grand less.

Thats what I'm scared off. I'm a hot sleeper. I rarely use more then a sheet, and have to have a fan going. Covers are pretty much a waste for me wherever I go.

If I get one, I'm def gonna have to make sure it has the trial period.

I had one, I liked it but like some say... it gets kinda hot sometimes. I was cranking my A/C up at night.

I went to a queen size and got a new firm mattress with a pillow top. I love it.

I had a mattress topper from Tempur-Pedic. It made me sweat so bad at nite, I gave it away. Foam Rubber is HOT. Plus it was way too soft. Bought a Sleep Number instead and found my number which is 100. (Bad Back)

My wife and I have had our's for almost 4 years and love it, best $3000 we have ever spent. We bought the Deluxe model that has the cooling chamber which is suppose to help cool it. It does get hot sometimes but I still love it. We have always slept with a ceiling fan on and it seems to help, but if you are hot natured you might want to stay away from Tempurpedic. Anonther issue is the smell when the mattress is new. It takes about a month to go away, the salesperson tried to tell us it was a fresh/clean smell, but it did go away after about a month.

Thats strange! We have had the top of the line TempurPedic mattress for about 5 years now and I dont sweat near as much as I did with our $2200 Serta pillowtop. I am a very hot sleeper but have minimal problems with mine. We both absolutely love it! I have alot of back pain but it is mainly due to being born with 2 of my vertibrae being fused together so unfortunately nothing is really gonna help with that. I also have had back spasms for many years but since we bought the TempuPedic I have only had them 1 time. Take it for what its worth. What works for one may not work for another. Best of luck in your decision!

+1 for too hot. I am a hot sleeper to begin with, but ya, this mattress is no good for me. We bought a latex mattress a few years ago and still love it.

They are using foam mattresses (not sure if they're actual Tempur-Pedics?) at a lot of the hotels I stay at on the road for business and will tell you that I sleep like a freaking rock on those things!

That being said, $2000.00+ is an awful lot of money to pay for a mattress! Might be cheaper just to stay at a hotel every night for the next 10 years......

Too hot for me also, and for everyone saying 2000 is too much for a mattress look at it this way, you spend 30G on a truck that you might be in an hour a day and you spend a third of your life sleeping. So from that stand point i had no problem spending the 2500 plus i have a bad back.

Yea, I wouldn't mind it, if it was perfect. But, from the sound of it, they seem hot. That would kill the deal for me. Gonna go check out the sleepnumbers tomorrow. If I don't like them, guess I'll get the tempur, and send it back if it's too hot.

Find a hotel with the Tempur-Pedic and try it. I am the king of the "Hot Natured". I run fans and keep the house pretty cool anyways, but I don't have a problem finding comfortable sleeping temperature.

I sleep like a rock on my Tempur-Pedic. I can't imagine ever going to a different bed. I think you can try Tempur-Pedic (for free) for three months and send it back if you don't like it. I would really recommend that you try a Tempur-Pedic before you just dismiss it as an option.
