Are you "green"?
Are you "green", meaning are you likely to be in favor of the environment by buying "green" products...like a hybrid car, etc. If you are, you need to read this article about "green" people and how they react to certain situations. If you aren't, you need to read this to see what you'll be dealing with. Here's a small clip:
The pair found that those in their study who bought green products appeared less willing to share with others a set amount of money than those who bought conventional products. When the green consumers were given the chance to boost their money by cheating on a computer game and then given the opportunity to lie about it – in other words, steal – they did, while the conventional consumers did not. Later, in an honour system in which participants were asked to take money from an envelope to pay themselves their spoils, the greens were six times more likely to steal than the conventionals.

Labnerd- You have demonstrated yourself to be a pretty intelligent guy- having said that, I know better than to think that you hadn't figured that one out before they ever wasted the money on that study. Probably our tax dollars too. Every time I see a Prius I have a mental picture of what the person behind the wheel is going to look like, man or woman. I have never been wrong yet. Nerds, and NOT like Labnerd! Green to the core!!! Saving the planet, one Prius at a time.

I drive a 14 mpg truck and a single digit mpg Mustang with no cats that runs rich and I tear thru the woods on an atv, sometimes knocking down trees that get in my way.
I guess Im not green and thats ok because I dont want to be a tree hugging hippie.

I'm with this guy. Ok fine, I recycle anything I can like paper, cardboard and glass etc. but am anything but green when it comes to cars. Curly q lightbulbs, energy star appliances and not littering ok, but buying Prius' and sharing rides, freezing my butt off in the winter and rallying? Eat my feces. There is bieng lazy and irresponsible then there is just bieng just a pain to appease a bunch of granola heads.
I'm green... not.
I like gas guzzeling vehicles. I leave all the lights on in my house. Run all 100 watt lightbulbs where I can. Run the A/C during the summer set to 64F in the house. Keep my truck idling endless hours when I'm out. Having the heat up to 75F during the winter. I don't recycle, as everything came from the Earth anyways.
The only green part about me, is I like my money and I work darn hard for it too.

I'm "green" in one sense. I'll go around and shut off all the lights and appliances that my wife leaves on. I use ONR to wash all the vehicles. On the other hand, my Hi-Fi rig contains lots of vacuum tubes all around. They all suck the juice down– real good
And then there is the plasma...
If I were to purchase a "green" car, it wouldn't be a hybrid, that's for certain. Turbo Diesel or CNG for me all the way.

I heat my home with a woodburning stove---I really do not do that to be "green"; I do it to save money. My furnace has not run for years. I do recycle, etc, and I do turn off lights, but it mostly to save $$$.

It has nothing to do with some "movement" fabricated by a bunch of elite environmentalists. It has everything to do with COMMON SENSE. There are already people who have been doing these common sense things for their entire lives.
It's really pretty silly that events like "Earth Hour" have to be planned. So people turn off thier lights for an hour and they thing that that's going to solve the problems? That's just silly! It's making common sense a habit, that will be the solution. Unfortunately that's not going to be the case.
I suspect that, because apparently the American people are just too stupid, our government will legislate a way to force us to be "green". We'll see what greenies are uppity, when they, along with the unwashed masses, are forced to be "green".
