The brush guard would definitely have caused the delay. Crash testing is done with the exposed bumper taking the impact, a brush guard would redirect the crash force.

So then you are saying that by protecting your front end with a brushguard, that you are taking protection away from your own rearend ?Sounds like a bum deal.Maybe brushguards should come with a warning label ?

I want an 09+ truck. gonna get one in a couple of years after I sell my car. Almost bought an 08 last year but now i'm gonna put some miles on the truck I have. its to good to get rid of yet.

I highly doubt any brush guard mounting to the frame is gonna redirect damage enough to the rear. Brush guards could cause more damage than prevent in some cases.
