I don't think the current administration, has done as much as they should/ could, but they were handd a mess to start with. I put the blame on all of the politicians, who all seem to be big business's back pocket, not to mention the greedy businesses themselves. When you have companies losing millions, and still giving the board members millions in bonuses, something is wrong. If I ran my bank account the way these businesses do, I would be in jail.

i said that with complete sarcasm. i think obama is a circus clown put in the ring to perform. except for a few senators and congressman, and very few at that, none of them are looking out for us. recycle them all. send them to retirement.

those bozos had the inquisition when the big 3 auto makers were summoned to washington and beat up corporate aviation. how many of them fly coach? they sure put me and alot of others out of work.

I was laid off in November, but probably for different reasons than others. Mine is a seasonal industry and work really slows down in the winter. They said they'd hire me on again in the spring as a tech, but I'm trying to find a job with a firm as an engineer.... never hurts to work another 6-8 months as a tech, though.

Sorry to hear it. I'm in kind of the same boat...I just have a 30-day stay of execution. The dealerships I work at told us last Thursday we were closing the doors as of 6pm on Saturday. That put about 100 people out of work. I was asked to stay on for the wind down which is a good thing...I think. The good thing here is management actually cares and had another dealer group interviewing us and they also made calls on our behalf to people they know to try to get interviews and jobs for as many as they could. We had another carline ready to come in too. It ended up being the bank who pulled the plug and ended it for us.

Good luck finding something quick.

i dont know roosevelt and i wasnt around for the great depression but i do see this assclown obama on tv all around the country reading his teleprompter.

this bozo has done nothing for anyone lower class, middle class or the upper class. we are worse off now than we were a year ago.

My Wife's been out of work for over a year now.... Just not that much out there in the same line of work she used to do (admin/office support). She's been getting unemployment this whole time and it ends this month and in most cases, the jobs she applies for and doesn't even get a call back on pays LESS then the unemployment and has zero benifits...

Her COBRA costs less then putting her on my compainies plan! Gonna be interesting when that runs out too...

I'm still working (System Admin for a CPA firm) and busy as heck right now! Been with the same firm for 12 years, but it could all fold up anytime.. Just depends on how the economy does...

Mitch

Well, scratch what I sad about COBRA, Obama signed an extension yesterday. You'll be eligible for the 65% discount. Some good news.

I'm in the same boat, got laid off in May of last year, have been on unemployment ever since. The problem is here in Cleveland, there is nothing out there, unless I want to flip burgers or work in retail. I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna take a job that pays less than my unemployment.
