my PROBE! finally, been sittin on it for about a year wondering it would change hands. I have this tinge of regret because it was such a fun car to drive, loved to be driven hard, but the family car is all I need for a car anymore.

thought id share!

Yeah I need one, something about 5760 rpm speed shifting and 60mph around hairpin corners was stupid, fun... lol

Trucks gonna go in sooner to get the exhaust changed, less leaks! oh and much, much shorter mufflers. about 10"x4" vs 22"x7" cans

Just get a Harbor Freight Flux core wire feed. I purchased one new in the box for $25 + 25 shipping on ebay. 90amp Mig 100's, I think their around $90 at their store. Their not built that well, but can be upgraded to run pretty well. I added a Lincoln Electric ground clamp, dual fan set up, Hobart steel gun liner instead of the plastic original, knurled dive roller bearing and she runs like a top. Great for exhaust and welding body panels. You don't have to upgrade it, but man it makes a huge difference. The parts are all on ebay if you spend the time to gather.

I have a welder, I'm just not good at running exhaust, I need a second flange made up so it can be easily removed

Need 2 flanges, 2 flex fittings welded in, a splitable H pipe, new hangers and a decision on how to finish it off after the cans.

Yea, I had to practice a bit with flux core, it's a little different type of welding. There's a grade of stainless in the OEM pipes that makes it even more fun. I could practice on store bought pieces and get it down just about perfect, but when attempting the OEM factory piping, that stainless was PITA.

I sectioned the exhaust. Installed the the Y in place/ tacked it/ removed and welded solid. Put it back up and fitted the first section of the Cat Back/ tacked that, brought it back down and again welded solid. Yours and mine are about the same I imagine. I believe you can fit that entire section in with the trans crossover bolted in ? I can't remember, maybe I had to bolt that back in after the exhaust was in place. I'm still using the factory Y hanger stemming from the tranny mount tho, not sure how you have yours, sounds like you have some customizing going on there lol.

yeah nothing like stock anymore, its all stainless. it currently clamps to the back of my resonators (leak) and drops down a few inches, drivers side wraps under the tail housing of the t-case, they run another 8" back to the splittable H pipe (leak) to the mufflers (leak).

somewhere all that has to become leak less

Yea, I imagine those leaks are hurting yuh a bit, they did me. More so on the low end. -WFO,- it probably doesn't matter lol. I was throwing DTC's left and right before I sealed them up. Running the stock tune with this set up is pushing efficiency parameters along with EGR settings. I leaked everywhere at one time lol, - throwing codes for both systems. Once buttoned up, the engine felt much stronger from the light.

taurus? lol. put a fresh trans in the trunk and then you'll get it down the road :P

Jbrew, I remember you counting your leaks. I have just a few but they're big. I blocked off my EGR and now I no longer have rich codes, but I have that ign'ant 401 flagging.

Just wish it was a turbo'd probe, would've autocrossed it.

It needs more than that man. I beat the absolute life out of this thing. Although it does still run good. Just needs ball joints right now.

its gotta be a package deal! its a taurus! kinda like when you say tempo, they cringe

lol nah actually I just told the guy. $2000 is the bare minimum, I'm losing $1500 right there but the car is too rough to get the money back out of it still. he hmm'd and ha'd went home to think about it. called me back and asked if i could go lower, I told him it'll be a track car before that happens, it screams pretty good.

I didnt need the money, just didnt need the car sitting at the house like it had for 8 months untouched.

when I bought a Jap motor for it that later seized because it had so much rust and calcium deposits in the cooling system, I thought about that lol
