uh yeah....

I would just buy a G-shock or Timex if you want digital or a Luminox for a clock face.

I know this is a joke on the thread from the other day. Those watches that he was looking at were a little too fancy for most of the readers of this forum. There are forums dedicated to watches and that is probably where he should have asked his question.

That said, I have a Rolex and feel that it is a very nice watch and also can be seen as an investment. The sports watches especially hold their value pretty well. The bad part about them is that they really don't keep as good of time as say a $30 Timex. The nice part about them is they don't ever need batteries.

There are other watches that are fine watches that don't cost thousands of dollars for those that want something nice without shelling out a fortune. I still wouldn't mind having a nice older Omega Seamaster. Maybe someday I will have enough extra money to have one, but for right now it will be just the one nice watch.

HAHA, I had to go find that thread to find what yall were talking about. I remember seeing that thread thinking, "WTF is that?". Wish I would of made it in time.
I've been rocking the same Fossil for the last 8+ years. Still shiny, and tells time, so it works for me. No matter how rich I was, I don't think I could ever spend more then a few hundred on a watch.

Honestly, I thought that watch that was posted was pretty classy. Not a ladies watch at all. Would go beautiful with a suit or tux.

BD- I think you ought to choose the ladies Rolex. Then I bet your Canadian friend would quit making fun of you.... or maybe not.

I'm a watch nut...

I would highly recommend either a Seiko Kinetic or a Citizen Eco Drive... I tend to shy away from automatic watches unless you don't do anything with your life... like play sports, or operate machinery.

These are my two favorites:

Seiko Kinetic Auto Relay:

Citizen EcoDrive SkyHawk:

Or if you want to go with the latest and greatest in watch movement technology, check out the Seiko Kinetic Direct Drive:

I have several old Omegas, LeCoultres, etc. but the workhorse is a Swiss Army stainless. No worries working on the truck, out on the boat, or running the chainsaw. Can't kill this watch. Have seen some old 1950 - 1970s presentation watches with the Ford emblem on the dial.
