Ford MYKEY

I was just watching a video of the Ford Taurus with the MYKEY technology... one of the coolest things ever was the fact that you can set the top speed of the vehicle when programming the keys.

I think it's great for parents whom are concerned about their kids or other people driving their vehicles.

I wish I had that on my truck, and set it it like 65 mph. It would be like perfect.

you know i have thought about that before, like you said it would be good for parents..maybe if there was a rev limiter too

but there arent many that get new cars that soon in their lives

My question is what happens when they try to pass someone on the highway running around 65.

first thing i thought of. never set your limiter at the highest posted speed limit.

remember, there are plenty of idiots on the road.

I think that has it's advantages and disadvantages. Sure, if you set it at the speed limit you know your kid's not speeding, but on the other hand if they need to get out of the way in a hurry it can become bad. And you know not everyone's gonna set it 10-20mph over the speedlimit.

Well that's true.

But I remember one day last year the roads were slick from the rain and some guy in front of me started losin control so I floored it and passed him cause I figured if I tried to stop I'd get hit. I was right cause the guy behind me did just that and got hit.
