Paying duty on a used lift kit

Im having a used rancho lift kit shipped to michigan this week, i was just wondering what kind of money i should be expecting to pay? paid $1000 for the 4" kit so i have to drive two hours to get it. Since its made in the USA do i have to pay taxes on it or whats the call there?

Do you freakin speak English, - man this is the worst I've seen in awhile. Do you even know what "proof read" means?

The short answer is it depends where you cross it and what kind of mood he is in. Some guys may let you go with just paying GST on it and other places will demand to see something that proves it is made in the USA or they will really tax the crap out of it.

If he's having it shipped , why the hell does he have to drive 2 hours lol.

Guessing he has to drive because it's not getting shipped all the way ? Or what, there's no mention of that ? I've shipped to Canada without an issue.

Can't spell, can't put a sentence together and doesn't make sense. I know they have schools in Canada.
what part of his post didn't you understand? haha it's written in pretty much perfect english. i think he is having the lift shipped to a state closest to him then driving to the U.S. to pick it up to avoid shipping to canada.

you got it man, to ship something on a pallet to canada is outrageous. I was quoted like 400-600 bucks to ship it to my home in ontario. Its easier usually to ship to michigan like i did with my intake and gryphon. Didn't know the grammar police were on duty lol...

I would assume you would pay duty at the border to the Canadian authorities based on the declared value.

let me try to explain it:

he is having a rancho lift shipped to michigan and is wondering how much if any money he will have to pay to get it out of the U.S..

"paid $1000 for the 4" kit so i have to drive two hours to get it. Since its made in the USA do i have to pay taxes on it or whats the call there?"

he paid $1000 for it and has to drive two hours to get to where it's being delivered in the U.S., but isn't sure if he will have to pay a tax on it to get it into Canada.

lol maybe it was the way he worded it. i read it and if you read it wrong it could be confusing.

oh well anywho to the OP i don't really have a clue about your situation. i would assume since it was bought in the U.S. and taxes on it were paid then you shouldn't owe anything to the U.S.. haha i tried.

That makes sense, thanks for the cipher. I'm usually pretty good at puzzles. I guess it's safe to answer now. - I have no idea. $1000 is a pretty good deal tho.
