Upgrade...good or bad???

I recently bought a new truck and was not aware that NC did safety checks as well as emissions (just moved to the state). I knew i was gonna need new tires but was gonna wait a year or so, well the truck failed inspection and i ended getting 4 new firestone destination A/T 285/70/17.....im just worried if they will make the truck look like a sad attempt to upgrade? I think it might help and also looks good when the tires stick out a little past the fender...is that tire size or a spacer of some sort??

Wouldn't want you to feel ignored, Alex. The two pictures I see are kinda dark and I really can't see the tires well (maybe it's just my eyesight).

But, if YOU'RE happy with them, that's all that matters!

To make a tire stick out past the fender, yes you can put spacers in there (not adviced) but it has more to do with what width of tire/rim combo you have. Like my rims are 17x9 and my tires are 35x12.5 so they stick out slightly from my fender but not too terribly much.

It'll be fine. 285's aren't a bad option for someone not wanting to lift their vehicle to fit bigger tires. Honestly when I get my new truck (looking at 06's-08's) I'm just going to put a leveling kit on and whatever tire I can fit. I've been looking at tires and I don't want to put MT's on again because I have a ton of highway driving ahead of me the next 2 years so I need a highway tire with aggresive tread and I haven't really found a tire tread I like that isn't a MT, toyo AT's are alright. But you'll be fine!
