Somebody with some brains at the university finally saw a win-win path and presented it to the Coach. Now he can focus on his health/family for several months with the option to continue doing a great job.

Hey Jumper32669, my brother lives in High Springs! Not too far from you... he actually looked at some houses there before they built in High Springs... nice little quiet town.

The leave of absence was partly a play to keep the recruits they were getting in 2010. Some would have bailed for sure to other teams if he would have resigned for real.

When Donovan did it with the basketball program a few years ago he ended up losing at least one prize recruit in the end, even though he too changed his mind about the Orlando Majic. We will see if any of the uncommitted recruits bail for other teams because of these shenanigans.

What is it with Florida coaches being wishy washy when it comes to making career decisions? :P

I don't think he was being wishy washy, heart problems can come and go with stress. I'm sure he feels fine when he's not on the field in the middle of a game, etc. But I'm sure he's torn between continuing coaching and calling it quits and giving up what looks to be a dynasty.

Time will tell if he makes the right decision. Hopefully he'll listen to the doctors first.
