I am a frequent flyer and I hate it and this episode pushed my buttons.
The order about the cell phone while the door was open would have ticked me off too. Especially the excuse that I was holding up the plane, it reeks of a power play.

I also hate those ***** who wear TSA uniforms.

I don't know anything about Schumer.
Then how could you 'reason' that he was in the clear? http://reason.com/blog/2009/12/16/sc...ight-attendant

(Couldn't resist since it was from "reason.com")

It seems from both links that Schumer has a pompous attitude, like many of our Congresscritters (R's included).

Any Senator that has publicly stated that Americans don't have the right to own a gun under the Constitution, well...

Well, we've kicked the horse plenty about the gun control. One thing is for sure, there will be more law breaking gun toting citizens, than there will be compliant sheep.

This... http://www.faa.gov/news/fact_sheets/...fm?newsid=6275

"...Turn off all pagers, electronic games, MP3 and CD players, laptops and the like once the cabin door is closed, until the plane gets above 10,000 feet. No using cell phones at any time while the plane is in the air....

...FAA guidance does let airlines allow cell phone calls once the plane has landed and is taxiing to the gate....
"

I've fly US Air much and they adhere to FAA guidlines.
This stewardess wasn't "just following the rules" she lacked knowlege of her job.
Or more likely, she was making up her own rules and that would qualify her as a Grade A Bitch.

From the article:

"Schumer and his seatmate, Gillibrand, were chatting on their cellphones when the plane’s captain told passengers to turn them off."
