When someone says that your handsome, how do you take it?

 

To me, it means you are not a pretty boy. Not smokin hot, but attractive. I think of it as the equivalent of calling a girl cute.

 

Usually I correct the person that says this to me.

It is "could you please hand me some wire ties" ( or what ever the items are ).

'Handsome wire ties over here' is just plain poor use of the English language.

I'm itching to hear our goat herder's interpretation on this one...

 

When you are single, it means "Can I have your phone number" in girl-speak.

When you're married, it means "If your wife wasn't my friend, I'd be all over you... I still might" in girl speak.

And, if a guy says it to you, something about you made him think you were batting for the other team.

 

Usually when people say it to me it means "Handsome money over"

I think it's more of a way to say you're "cute"

Attractive in a strong and manly way. Having a physically imposing appearance. Not a little girlie-man.

I take it that I've come across somebody who's eyesight has got worse than mine
or they drank a whole lot more than I did.
But probably both.

 

In an earlier time, when I was a young pilot in the Air Force, girls seemed to think I was handsome. Now, not so much.
